Lilly would be the most realistic option.

Neither, now that we signed this Japanese pitcher... but I can see Cash trading Pavano for a pitcher.

I actually wouldn't mind Lilly. Anyone who gets in Gibbons' face after what happened with Shea Hillenbrand has the cojones for New York.

He was ours, didn't work out at that point in his career, went away, grew up and now he can come back.

He doesn't have to be a #1. All he has to be is a #3 or a #4. I think he'd fit in well, particularly in the clubhouse.

Option #4: none of the above.

i dont think he won't be a good clubhouse guy for us. He is not much of a leader. i think all he thinks about is himself.

You actually think Cashman is DONE? He will get another
pitcher. Likely a Free Agent, but he has a couple of trade options.

HOWEVER, And, ROFL. I love your suggestion. Who would take
Pavano and give us some great pitcher in return??? LOL.. Oh,
ok. Trade our rancid tuna garbage for their Porterhouse
steak. Straight up.

Everyone can't be a leader. You need some followers as well. People to follow Mussina's lead (in the rotation). People to follow Mariano's lead (in the bullpen) and people to follow Jeter's lead (in the batting order and in the field).

This relates to my desire to not have a superstar at every position.

Too many chiefs, not enough indians and all that.

I think Lilly would fall into line and not be a negative force in the clubhouse. That's what I meant.
