He only has 2 more wins then Ponson, while Ponson is costing the Yanks nothing Santana is making the most money for a starting pitcher wow!
To be fair, the Mets have no bullpen, if he was a Yankee he'd probably have 15 wins right now.
I think he is just soliciting response from mets fans. He knows that wins is not a real measure of a pitcher. If he is really serious then I was wrong to think of him as a knowledgeable fan.

She's serious. She really believes what she wrote in the OP.

Watching Santana last night reminded me of Chien-Ming Wang. I mean if you are the ace of the staff I suppose you would be willing to do whatever is best for the team. Wagner was not avaiable last night and you would suppose Santana would tell his manager that he can go 9. In the similar case when Yankees were playing Washington Nats in 2006, Yankees already had an exhuasted bullpen and Wang had to go the distance for the team but only to give up a walkoff 2 run bomb to Ryan Zimmerman. We all saw Wang slammed his golve into the dugout on his way back. Sure Yankees lost that game but Wang won the respect of the team. Go figure.

If you have that big of a lead, it's not even a save situation. There is no way Santana could know that the pen couldn't hold a 6 run lead. That can no way be blamed on Santana.

i must say that stat is a little humorous to me...however i watch met games as well and johan is gettin shafted...he IS doing better than the wins and losses show...i still wonder how hed look in pinstripes....i guess well have to wait till the end of next year to see if hughes was worth keeping...

It was only a 3-run lead and the bullpen gave up 6 runs. Anyway great win for the Phillies.
Yeah I know which is why stats can be deceiving.
Well in a sense you are right but the pen should be able to hold a 3 run lead in th 9th inning, Wang was pitching with a 1 run lead with Mo not available.
