From MetsBlog regarding the opening of Citi Field:
Frankly, I prefer the Mets shelve Piazza and Seaver for this specific moment. I love them, of course, but I look at Citi Field as the home of the future Mets, my generation⁈⁚s Mets, a place for new memories, etc., not the past, which now belong to the ghosts Shea. I have no idea what that means for a first pitch ceremony, however.

I'm sorry but this is just the icing on the cake with me and that franchise. I mean could you imagine The Yankees opening their new stadium without Yogi being a major part of it? Seriously Matthew Cerrone just proved to me why The Mets will always be second class citzens in this city. Its not because they don't have the rich history The Yankees do or as many rings its because people like him seem to feel the need to distance their franchise from its own history. Really disgraceful.
