Johan Santana shutsout the Phillies. That non trade will haunt Cashman forever.....I thought I'd reiterate that here for the 10,437th time.....

It is frustrating because he is a true ace...a big game true #1...unlike Sabathia

you got that right. That no trade will haunt his career forever. Everytime Santana pitches , I want to slap Cashman across the face.

Can we see where CC is in August and what Hughes turns into before you create this thread?

Why don't we wait and see what CC and Hughes do this year before we judge him on that non-trade.

I wouldn't have made that trade either at the time. I'd rather have a home grown pitcher, and if Hughes turns out to be a 15+ game winning pitcher I'm going to be happy we never made the trade.

yea we'll see how good hughes turns out to be.

I find it funny that the same ppl that criticize the yanks for not developing players are the same ones that turn around and want them to go and get every player on the market. I mean how many we need to get cc, aj, tex, and manny threads did you see during the winter

So true, and in five years when Santana is well passed his prime nearing the end and Hughes is 27 and in his prime people will see exactly why that trade wasn't made.
