1. The Wilpons are reportedly going to do the biggest payroll slash in baseball history
2. There are calls for the Wilpons to be removed as owners
3. Lupica has nothing to say about it anymore.
Because, as Lupica pointed out, this was a shakedown by Picard and the judge has pretty much said he finds little evidence that the Wilpons did not invest "in good faith" and were not participants in the Ponzi scheme. It doesn't look like Picard will be able to prove his case to get more than the $83M and it may turn out that the Wilpons won't even be liable for that much either.
You forget that the Wilpons were facing a potential $1 billion lawsuit. Having to pay only $83M is like having a first degree murder charge reduced to simple assault.
