CC awesome today - nice "W"!
Driving in from RI for a Yankee game. Need a good hotel to stay at with the family. Looking for something affordable and safe - any ideas? People have told me to stay just outside NY in CT....not sure where though. Thanks

Stay in Jersey...There are some decent places just over the GWB in Fort Lee. I think there's more info on Yankee.com

Yea I stayed at one back in '76.....My cousin and I drove down to NY for our 1st Yankee game ever and really didnt wat to spend money on a motel.....we were going to the next game too.....so we pulled in a parking lot of a store in Ft Lee to sleep the night in the car. The cops chase us out and told us about a cheap flea bag motel......forgot the name however.

Don't drive into the city. Take metro west in from New Haven or Stamford. Hotels/motels are cheaper too.
Also, Fairfield is a good option. Just stay the hell away from Bridgeport.

IMO, your best bet is to stay in Westchester County. White Plains has a train right into Yankee Stadium. You can stay at the Holiday Inn Crown Plaza in White Plains or the Rennaissance Hotel in Harrison. 30 minutes and you're at the stadium.
