Has a Yankee fan for 53 years I can tell you about pressure baseball. It’s the worst for ball players who are affected by it. Because the fans know that you are a unreliable player and you are affecting the team. The players I’m talking about is Swisher, Arod and Cano. Why is it that a .200 hitter from the other teams can come through with a two out hit and our millionaire rarely ever do. Because is just that, they make so much money that the pressure gets to them. If you need them just to make contact and move the runner or sac fly, they strike out or hit into double play. Hey Jeter sometime doe s the same, but not all the time.. Arod , Swisher does it all the time. Granderson is also feeling the pressure. You can also blame the manger for not moving them out of their batting order. These guys are in a very important spot in the order and they are not doing the job. Cano might be affected by one day batting third the next day batting 5th. I never seen Mantle bat 5th until he end of his days. I would bat Arod 6th or 7th until he start whacking the ball. He had a 13 game hitting streak and most of the hits were cheap off the end of the bats or bloopers that fell in, crap. Just sit him down and play Chavez who makes better contact. But Giraldi will never do that because of his loyalty to them. Not to the team. Speak up announcers of the game say the truth. Stop trying to fooling us. saying “that we need Arod back” , he is humiliating the line up. Yesterday Al Leiter said with runners at 1st and 3rd and one out that Swisher with less than two out had knock in 16 out of 31 runners he said that was excellent. But what he failed to tell the dumb listener’s that at one time this year he had 15 out of 19 runners knock in and that was in early July but now In pressure baseball September he has just 1 out of 13 and I said 13 not 12 because he just hit into a double play. Michael Kay and all you guys say the truth to us.

I often think about how many players have done well before pinstripes, and once they put the pinstripes on, the pressure is just beyond them. I know the contracts themselves can add tremendous pressure, but I also think there is a lot to be said of the pressure of playing under the microscope of NY and in the pinstripes that the greatest players have worn.

Pressure is pressure, since your 6 years old, your friends put pressure on you because you normally succeed. When they don't you put pressure on you is because they are use to seeing you fail. The players that come through most of the time, they just looks at it has a battle between me and you and I’m not going to let you beat me. Again between him and the location of the pitched ball not the entire world against me. They don’t go over all the time I’ve failed, because failure is not an option to them. These players are pressure by their own past failures. So every time they are counted on the other player and fans already know that failure is imminent.

cano is batting .172 with two outs and runners in scoring position

You are so right.....remember Montero last year, he belted home runs in Yankee stadium to right and basically had fun doing it. No pressure at all. So we keep the same old players that is worn out with pressure, thus the predicament we are in.

Joe G. can take a 40 home run leading RBI player and move him back and fore in the line up sometime second sometimes 9th. But he can't move a useless Arod to bat 7th because he slows down the offense.

The problem is the Yankees have way to many 200 hitters on this team. RBI's are down across the board becuase they keep throwing out replacement killers each night. Yankees don't get fixes they get spackle to makeup their lineup. After Tex in the lineup the Yankees are dead! Time to miss the playoffs and time to change! No Swisher, Granderson go get an outfield and a catcher and work from there.
