Just figured I would make a thread where people may want to join in and add any inspirational prayers or sayings they have come across.  All are welcome.

Saint Teresa's Prayer

Mother Teresa of Calcutta

May today there be peace within.

May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be confident knowing you are a child of God.

Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.

It is there for each and every one of us.

         This inspirational writing was on the wall of Mother Teresa's home in Calcutta, India.  It's called "The Final Analysis"

            People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered.

Forgive them anyway.

            If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.

Be kind anyway.

            If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies.

Succeed anyway.

           If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you.

Be honest and sincere anyway.

            What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight.

Create anyway.

            If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.

Be happy anyway.

            The good you do today, will often be forgotten.

Do good anyway.

         Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.

Give your best anyway.

         In the final analysis, it is between you and God.

It was never between you and them anyway.

Let nothing disturb you;

Nothing frighten you

All things are passing,

God never changes,

Obtains all things,

Is wanting to him

Who possesses God,

God alone suffices.

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear.  Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?  Look at the birds in the sky; they do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are not you more important than they?  Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life span?  Why are you anxious about clothes?  Learn from the way the wild flowers grow.  They do not work or spin.  But I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was clothed like any of them.  If God so clothes the grass of the field, which grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow, willl he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith?  So do not worry and say 'What are we to wear?'  All these things the pagans seek.  Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.  But seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides.  Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself.  Sufficient for a day is its own evil."

Matthew 6:24-34

Whether we live,

We live unto the Lord;

And whether we die,

We die unto the Lord;

Whether we live therefore, or die,

We are the Lord’s.

Lord, listen to my prayer:

Turn your ear to my appeal

You are faithful, you are just; give answer.

Do not call your servant to judgment

For no one is just in your sight.

The enemy pursues my soul;

He has crushed my life to the ground;

He has made me dwell in darkness

Like the dead, long forgotten.

Therefore my spirit fails;

My heart is numb within me.

I remember the days that are past;

I ponder all your works.

I muse on what your hand has wrought

And to you I stretch out my hands.

Like a parched land my soul thirsts for you.

Lord, make haste and answer;

For my spirit fails within me.

Do not hide your face

Lest I become like those in the grave.

In the morning let me know your love

For I put my trust in you –

Make me know the way I should walk;

To you I lift up my soul.

Rescue me, Lord, from my enemies;

I have fled to you for refuge.

Teach me to do your will

For you, O Lord, are my God

Let your good spirit guide me

In ways that are level and smooth.

For our name’s sake, Lord, save my life;

In your justice save my soul from distress.

Psalm 143:1-11 (Galastians 2:16)

Prayer To The Heart of Jesus

Does our life become from day to day more painful,

More oppressive, more replete with suffering?

Blessed be He a Thousand times who desires it so.

If life be harder, love makes it also stronger,

And only this love, grounded on suffering,

Can carry the Cross of my Lord Jesus Christ.

I believe, O Lord, but strengthen my faith ..,.

Heart of Jesus, I love Thee, but increase my love.

Heart of Jesus, I trust in Thee,

But give greater vigor to my confidence.

Heart of Jesus, I give my heart to Thee, but so enclose it

In Thee that it may never be separated from Thee.

Heart of Jesus, I am all Thine,

But take care of my promise so that I may be able to

Put it in practice even unto the complete sacrifice of my life.

My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going.

I do not see the road ahead of me.

I cannot know for certain where it will end.

Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think I am following

Your will does not mean that I am actually doing so.

But, I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you.

And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing.

I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.

And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road,

Though I may know nothing about it.

Therefore I will trust you always,

Though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death.

I will not fear, for you are ever with me,

And you will never leave me to face my perils alone.

Start by doing what's necessary,

then do what's possible,

and suddenly you are doing the impossible.

St. Francis of Assisi

I'm not telling you it is going to be easy - I'm telling you it's going to be worth it

Art Williams

Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.

Carl Bard

Matthew 6:34

Take no thought for tomorrow: for tomorrow shall take no thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto today is evil thereof.
