So i was talking to my brother tonight, and it just hit me that they still dont have a dh or a bench. This may be the weakest team ive seen in a long time... the bench includes: the indians guy, nunez, and either cervelli or stewart, i cant wait to see who they pick up on minor league deals. This is starting to get my really worried

The bench will work it's way out after spring training. As for DH, I want to believe Mike Morse of the Nationals will be the answer. But, I believe he will go to the Rays in the end. The other options aren't pretty. We might not know who is the DH until the start of spring training like last year.

I wanted Ibañez back and he wanted to play for the Yanks but I guess Cash didn´t pull the trigger on time. He would have been cheap for the Yanks and we know very productive.
I like Ibanez and he did a great job last year, but I believe the thinking was that he would not repeat his 2012 stats. He stretched it to the max and IMO he had his year of glory.

LOL....huh? Should 41 year old Ibanez get the start in the outfield over Brett Gardner? NO Should 41 year old Ibanez get the start in the outfield over Curtis Granderson? NO Should 41 year old Ibanez get the start in the outfield over a faster, better defender, and better hitter Ichiro? NO. That's three NO's for Ibanez, a left handed hitter. The Yankees don't need another left handed hitter, especially a 41 year old who can fade at anytime. They need a right handed hitter. With that said, it should understandable as to why Cashman didn't look to re-sign Raul Ibanez.

I don't get the love affair with Brett Gardner on these boards. I certainly don't understand the profound faith everyone seems to have in him. He's always hurt. He has no power. He's unproductive, given the position he plays. I think he lacks certain fundamental skills, specifically a passable major league baseball swing. He's a redundancy with Ichiro. He's very streaky. I seriously think his injury HELPED the Yankees in the regular season last year (Joel Sherman argued the same thing). I grant you, they missed his "small ball" talents at times, and the reliance on the long ball did produce a limited, one-dimensional offense in the postseason. But I'd still like to see him traded and replaced with someone whose talents are more multi-dimensional.

Think it's only me and you or maybe a handful other guys who think exactly what you just wrote.

Now that Mike Napoli is officially a FA should the Yanks try and get him for cheap?

I have a few questions as well. DH - Who is the DH? C- Who is the C & who is backup? Bench - Who is the 4th outfilder - Who plays 1st when Tex needs a rest? Who plays 3rd with Youk needs a rest? Actually who's on the bench? LF- Is Gardner the fulltime LFer? This guy can't stay healthy to save his life let alone get a hit past the infield? 3B - Is Youk the fulltime 3b? SS - Is Jeter even goning to be ready? Hows that ankle going to be during the season? What will they get? Hal actually thinks the Yankees had a good off season. Really Hal?!

He's a redundancy with Ichiro exactly
I like gardner ok I like ichiro ok just not in the same line up and I was still ok with that until we lost martins power many like him because gardner is cheap and his defense is great
