Cano should be at least an A.

Shocking you would think that. Cano is no better than a B+ due to his lack of hustle at times and his streakiness, or lack of consistency. Looking at just his numbers he gets an A, throw in the intangibles and he's a B+ at best.

Not shocked that you would think he wasn't.  Take away Cano from this team and this game is 20 games or more below .500.  His numbers alone are worth an A, his value beause there is no one else in the lineup putting up big numbers is an A+.  You can dislike Cano all you like but to act as if he isn't carrying this team is foolish.

Building a successful team is a lot more than compiling numbers, despite what statisticians would like us to believe. Cano's refusal to run out ground balls he assumes will be easy outs is an attitude that can infect the whole team, especially younger players like Nunez who didn't hustle to 3rd last week. I'm not holding Cano responsible for that, but imo Cano's lackadaisical play is not something you want to build a winning team around. And his defense this year around 2nd base has been horrid; his priorities have been looking good with pirouettes instead of relaying the ball quickly. I don't want him for 6 years, or 4, or even 1. Frankly, I'm getting sick of looking at him.

That's absolutely NOT true.... Cano's defense at 2nd has been Gold Glove calibur again. As far as Nunie not running hard I've never seen him not run hard. He runs so hard his helmet falls off. You guys continually call Cano lazy and say he dogs it and make up a lot of stuff about him. It's fine if you don't another long term contract.... I don't think anyone wants that, but this lying about his play is bs. It's funny how ex-players like O'Neill and Cone Singleton and Flaherty gush all over this guy and a few on this message board incessantly bash the guy.

How'd yu give Cano a C-, when he has produced most of the Runs we've scored during the first half?

As for Joe G he should be an A given what he's gotta work with this season so far, he's done a hell of a job.

I met Hank last week and he's a little upset at you for skimping on your prosposed contract offers.

I'm trying to let him do his job, I heard he is about to announce the 515M lifetime deal for Eric Duncan...

Lola, despite what sabremetrics has to say, Cano has been the best 2nd baseman in the AL for years, but this year, around 2nd base, or at the pivot, he's been an absolute clown, WAAAAAAY more interested in "looking good" than getting the ball to 1st as quickly as possible.

Then you missed a key point in a game last week when he was on 2nd and we had a runner on 1st, 0 outs and a sac bunt was attempted and Nunez was trotting to 3rd (Canoing) thinking there would be no play on him. Well there was, and he was out. He should have been safe, bases loaded, no one out. Now, with one out, there's no one on 3rd. Inexcusable.

I saw it but it seemed more like a mistake due to inexperience rather than Cano-induced loafing. In any case, had he been running hard, they would have thrown to first so there would have been 2nd and 3rd with one out. As I recall, based on what the next 2 hitters did, he wouldn't have scored anyway.

Another assumption on your part! Because I gave him a B+  which was IMO, you turn that into I dislike him. Say what you want, give him an A+ if you want, but he has flaws in his game and is streaky, thus a B+. I'll reserve A+ for players like Cabrera and Davis.
