One Crack about how Thurman was killed because of his own hubris should be enough qualification to expel Stewie The Punk for good. But to each his or her own.
Loon, Munson himself had said that plane was too much aircraft for him, that his skills and abilities were not up to safely handling a Cessna Citation 501, and for that reason he was planning on selling it ASAP. But he decided to take two people up with him that day, doing tricky touch-and-go landings. That's irresponsible . Period. That's the truth. Maybe you don't like hearing it, but it's still the truth.

He had flown a lot and was licensed. You are an idiot trying to sound smart. He died of an accident.

You've been warned numerous times. Don't let it happen again or it will be the last time. Argue all you want, but do it without the unacceptable language.

Loon, I'm not trying to sound anything. What I've stated, these are what are known as facts. Bruce Landsberg, President of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, a pilot of vast and widely diverse experience, reviewed the NTSB report and the interviews with the 2 passengers who barely escaped with their lives and came to the following conclusion: "Munson forgot to lower the gear and flaps, failed to compute the proper V REF, failed to recognize that he was in the region of reverse command, and attempted to conduct an aircraft demonstration in an aircraft that he only marginally understood. The fact that he gave no safety brief, did not use a checklist, and neglected to use the shoulder harness that may well have saved his life, shows casualness toward safety measures."

You're not proving anything other than it was a tragic accident.

Well tragic to some of us. You seem to have a different feeling. Maybe he deserved it?

To me the fact that he died young has little to do with his number being retired. He was the heart and soul of those clubs, The Yankees hadn't won anything from 1964 'til '76 and Munsun was the leader of that team. Great, tough gritty player that would do anything to win. His number belongs out there with other Yankee greats.

Agreed. The only debate about his death was started by Stewie the clown. It has zero to do with his connection as an all time great with Yankee fans.
