Instead of 3 digit numbers, I believe they should use letters and symbols.
CC can be pie.... yeah, not a typo either...

That is great news. Andy always answered the call and usually with distinction. He won alot of big games for the Yankees and was consistant year after year after year. He really deserves it. Tough to not like Andy.

Pettitte interviewed now on Kay ....Asked how Yankees honored him after PED usage. Pettitte said you have to ask the Yankees. Pettitte said I never use anything for enhancement..just used for a couple of days to promote healing. Indeed Andy is my all time favorite Yankees. Strangely Chuck Knoblauch threw Andy under the bus.

Pettitte should have turned the tables on Kay who has been a steroid user for years, just look at his giant gazoo head....

Love Andy. But we are in the mid-80's folks. All these retired numbers are losing meaning. Bernie, Posada, etc. a case can be made for and against and that to me is the problem, against. No one would dare deny that no other player should ever wear the #3 or #4, etc. But no one should ever wear #44? Can #20 be held evenly with #8? Can #51 be held up evenly with #5 or #7? No criteria since the Steinbrenner family took over. It makes for a day of ticket sales and tune in. Sad state affairs for this teams legacy when you diminish the real greats with the great right now.

I'm thrilled that these guys will be honored this way. What a great era we enjoyed.
Well some of us.

True, they have over done it. Soon it will appear Winfield is being snubbed.

Perfectly said! Couldn't agree more! IF we could stand up the greats that wore #3, #5, #7 along a wall and then stood beside them #20 and #51.. you would say, "Who does not belong in this picture?" If you stood our former #2 up there, he would belong! #51 (and yes, we love Bernie, but just being truthful), definitely would have no business there.
WIN - THAT'S ALL!

Andy's post-season accomplishments should be looked at when you talk about him ... one can make an argument that Andy deserves this recognition.
