or A-rod again. I hear that Hal has invested that Moncada money in a start-up company that makes artificial body parts.

I can't believe it 61! I got not signing the over 30 crowd but passing on a kid when you don't really have any. I hope they sell and I never said that before.

YellThis team just doesn't get it.

They annually waste money on marginal talent but refuse to spend on top shelf.   They continue to play chicken and the egg what came first while putting together their roster....

I'll be a fan of this team to the day I die but I'm going to distance myself from watching them for health reasons. My blood pressure can't take another year of it.  I hope for the best this season and will watch free games but I ain't buying into what this front office/ownership is doing.

See you all next season .

Any chance that the Red Sox made Moncada an offer and instead of Moncada's agent informing the Yankees and allowing them to match, Moncada just went ahead and signed the Red Sox offer...?

I dont buy that the 3 work outs was just "for show" as someone else said. The Yankees were well aware that what ever they were to Moncada to, that it would cost them double that in the end. And they knew it was gonna cost them at least $30 Mil to sign him.

This sounds less like about the Yankees not wanting to offer the money and more like Moncada wanted to go somewhere else or the Yankees were never informed of the Red Sox offer and able to match/beat it.

How could the Yankees f*ck this up soooooo BADLY ??

All this kid would have cost them is $$$ !! Essentially a #1 draft pick. By all accounts he was a top first round draft pick....If he turns out to be the next Puig or Trout, the fans will boycott this team.

Getting Moncada will give the Red Sox ability to sign Hamels. If that happens they win the division and the Yanks miss the palyoff for the third year in a row....This is heartbreaking.

Its very disappointing. I was thinking about that selling issue myself. I don't think Hal has the mindset to run a sports franchise.

I think Yankees offered simular $$$,  Moncada just preferred Red Sox

then th Yankees should have offered more money instead of similar money. No reason to not sign this kid. They worked him out 3 times. If he had no interest in the Yankees he wouldn't have worked out 3 times.
