The point keeps being made that he may have wanted to go to Boston.

From what I've gathered through all reports so far is that we did NOT offer what boston did. The fustration on my end comes from ownership being cheap and not caring.

25 million? unfreakingbelievable. Outbid by your biggest rival by 6 million dollars. Wow, just wow!

Unreal. I'm so sick of this rich kid running the Yankees with no passion. Hope they sell.

In regards to competing with Red Sox for players, you win some and you lose some.  Unfortunately Yankees won A-Rod.....Sealed

So we decide to low ball on this kid. just what Big Guy feared. What a joke! Even the baseball scribes on MLB network can't understand what the Yankees are doing. Hal has alot of 'splaing to do!

Hey man, don't give up! There is still the excitement of waiting for Drew's first hit of the season sometime in mid May!

As Joel Sherman Reported, the Yanks were only willing to go up to 27M.  So they got outbid essentially by 4.5M.  This is the definition of cheap by the owners.  I believed the Yanks were trying to get younger and build from within, and Moncada, a potential star and top ten prospect in baseball fit their needs perfectly.  I figured they viewed him as the final piece to the off-season were they could land a top 10 talent for only cash.

This isn't about being smart with how they spend either.  This isn't passing on Cano cause it was too many years or Scherzer cause 7 years and two hundred million for a pitcher is too risky when the Yanks team isn't on the cusp of being great.  This is flat out cheap, this is padding the pockets of the owners plan and simple.  Its also monumentally penny wise and pound foolish to lose this thing by 4.5M.  Just to give everyone an idea how cheap it is, the Yankees had revenues over 100M MORE (2013 numbers, couldn't find the 2014 numbers) than the next team (Boston).  And that is in a season that Boston won the WS and they missed the playoffs.  Think about that for a second.  They had revenues of 170M more than the Dodgers in a playoff less season.  And the variance only likely grew last year again, despite not making the playoffs.  Wrap your heads around those numbers.  And they got outbid for a potential top ten talent, young superstar by 4.5M.  Sad and again a sign the Yankees have no real plan or worse they don't have the stones to take the risks to execute the plan.

They have stayed out of the cuban market all this time, elminiting themselves from a market effeciency that could save them money.  Its just so dumb its sad.

Didn't you hear his annual speech after another season out of the playoffs last year? The goal is to build a Championship team every year.

He should be a politician. Blah Blah Blah. Yada Yada Yada

If you compare the infield situation for the future between the Yankees and Red Sox it's not even close. The Red Sox are stacked.  Time to sell Hal !!
