I'm not going to make excuses for the Rangers. It is frustrating as hell that they had the best season in their franchise history with 53 wins and 113 points and they couldn't get it done. Two shutouts by the Lightning at home is numbing.

At least I've witnessed their only championship in 75 years which is more than a Cub fan can say.

Yeah, it was nice sharing this amazing season with you two and talking hockey. Too bad it ended on a sour note. Until next season lauren and Tony.

Just read this today. Thought you might like to know this. Ragners Injury Report.

1. MCD will need a plate for his broken foot.
2. Girardi will have his left ankle drained and played with an MCL sprain.
3. Staal played with a hair line fracture of the foot.
4. Yandle played with an AC shoulder sprain.
5. And now the news that's shocked me.
Zuc had a small skull fracture and brain contusion and had to take speech therapy. Very
small chance he could have played in the final.

The injuries certainly hurt especially since many of those players were the ones who had strength where this team lacked, physical strength and toughness.  It's very hard to get through a post-season on speed and finesse.  Things get tighter, goaltending gets better, and the playoffs are a grind.  The Rangers have a few pieces that, although they have performed admirably, are set to go.  When they replace those guys, they really need to supplement with a couple of strong forecheckers and a couple of guys that get dirty in front of the net.  It might not be bad to add a bruiser too.

They're only a few pieces away from a championship caliber team and the nice part is that those parts aren't horribly expensive on the open market.  Hopefully Dolan and Co. will provide the proper ducats to get those parts and we can get it to the next level before King Henrik's window of opportunity closes.
