There they go again. It seems like every 4 years there's GOP candidate after GOP candidate that wants to end Medicare! Here's an idea try funding it properly instead of sending so much money overseas! Sheesh!
When they say "something new" they means vouchers which people on Medicare don't want! I thought better of Jeb and will no longer be fooled in thinking that he's a moderate. He's pulling the same crap Mitt did 4 years ago. For that I hope Sleep Walker wins the nomination because they both want to screw people over, but at least Sleep Walker is up front about it.
We Need To Phase Out Medicare, Says Jeb Bush at Koch Brothers Sponsored Event
Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush told an audience at a Koch brothers’ sponsored Americans for Prosperity event in New Hampshire, that we need to phase out Medicare. Bush, the so-called “moderate” candidate in the GOP field, is ready to scrap Medicare, stripping away a vital program that helps cover medical costs for elderly and disabled Americans. Bush made his intentions clear when he stated:
The left needs to join the conversation, but they haven’t. I mean, when [Rep. Paul Ryan] came up with, one of his proposals as it relates to Medicare, the first thing I saw was a TV ad of a guy that looked just like Paul Ryan … that was pushing an elderly person off the cliff in a wheelchair. That’s their response.
And I think we need to be vigilant about this and persuade people that our, when your volunteers go door to door, and they talk to people, people understand this. They know, and I think a lot of people recognize that we need to make sure we fulfill the commitment to people that have already received the benefits, that are receiving the benefits.
But then we need to figure out a way to phase out this program for others and move to a new system that allows them to have something – because they’re not going to have anything. And that argument I think is going to be a winning argument if we take it directly to the people. www.politicususa.com/2015/07/23/phase-me...

Jeb is trying to make himself look more conservative ... and he's doing a good job ... just lost my vote.

It's disgusting how they want to cut and eliminate programs that help the poor, middle class, elderly, disabled. If they need extra money for the government let them look at how one sided the wealth distribution has been over the last 35 years and let them tax their rich friends. They can afford it, the class of people I listed can't.

I seriously don't understand people that want to hurt millions upon millions of people throughout the Country.

Bush is right. Medicare as it exists is extremely flawed. We don't need to push the elderly and disabled off a cliff in a wheelchair but we need to come up with a better system.

I've heard that there are polls that have stated that most people love Medicare ... I personally think it should be made better ... not worse ... a coupon system would stop people who need medical coverage to not be able to afford it ... very hurtful to the millions upon millions who depend on Medicare ... if anything it should be strengthened ... not changed to a coupon system.

People on Medicare might love Medicare but it is a noose around the healthcare system. If you want to know a lot of the reason why health insurance is ridiculously expensive it's because of the mandated fixed pricing of Medicare (and Medicaid). When I pay $350 for simple lab work that doesn't actually cost anywhere near that, it's because I'm paying the difference that Medicare subscribers haven't paid. An example from my industry ... Medicare payments for ambulance service have not increased 1 dime since the late 1980's. Does anyone really think that an ambulance service can pay its bills with the same amount of money that it was getting for a trip in 1986?

Medicare is for people who are now on fixed incomes ... they deserve a break on their medical expenses ... it's not as great as people seem to think it is ... just checked into Medicare recently ... the deductibles are ridiculous.
