Gardner has been horrible for weeks now. Ellsbury in and out of the lineup, Arod hitting 137 with 1 HR in August, Tex has been hurt for a week. Team couldn't afford injuries and prolonged slumps and that's what they're getting

The Yankees getting a day off couldn't come at a better time. McCann is also banged up and the rest are in a slump. Drew is just being Drew. It would be nice if the Yanks had a 2Bman in Triple A that could hit. (sarcasm)

In the meantime, those huckleberries north of the border have won 20 of 25 games. Hot streak or just a very, very good team???

Jays have a ridiculously good lineup

I'm convinced there is more to the Refsnyder story Max. I just have no idea what it is

They are getting lucky too. They won that game the other night because Beltren of all people made and error with 2 outs in the 9th.

Unlike the Yankees, 1-9 can carry that team. The Yankees were riding the wave with A Rod and Tex with some Ellsbury and Gardner earlier on. Now that they've all hit the wall, who's left?

BELTRE. That was only one game of luck, they set a record last night for the most 10 run games. They're getting good pitching and hitting the snot out of the ball and aren't going away. Barring injuries they could go a long way.

The YES propaganda machine should provide us with info, such as whether Refsnyder has an "attitude" problem or not; in other words, give us (or press Cashman as to) the reason why he hasn't be been called up to offset either of the two bozos now playing the 2B position. For that matter, why hasn't Pirela? Does he have an "attitude" issue, too? That's just an excuse, and those of us using that excuse don't really know, have no evidence for or against such a speculation. Other teams take chances on players w/ offensive talent and questionable psyches. Do Refsnyder and Pirela have severe defensive issues? To hell w/ that alibi! Refsnyder, as one poster showed the other day in a video, can make the sensational play. And in any case, right now I'd rather have either Refsnyder or Pirela play 2B, make an error or two--even one that loses us a ballgame--provided he can hit (and thus help win ballgames in the plural) than keep playing Drew or Ryan, both of whose's batting avgs. would make G. Steinbrenner (and should make most of us) cringe in depression, if not outright disgust. In my opinion, it's Cashman who has the "attitude" problem regarding Refsnyder/Pirela. And if it's Girardi, who wants defensive players in the position, Cashman should have the balls to override G's preference. And if by some miracle Cashman indeed decides to bring up Pirela or Refsnyder, then he aka Girardi should stipulate that he will play 2B regularly, even against RH pitchers. To hell with platooning him; that only dictates that Drew will bat against RH pitchers, who of course constitute the majority of pitchers we have to face. Time's now to take a chance and vote, yes, with hope, for the future; which just might also affect our present team.

Rumor has it Refsynder said he could hit better than Drew and Cashman is punishing him for criticizing his pet. There is no logical reason for him not to be up unless they have given up on him completely.
