To me, a decision so obvious, Arod needs to be at third this series.  Now is the time you go for it, there are 2 weeks left in the dang season, you don't worry about health right now---he shouldn't be at risk for 3 games in the field, and if he is, play him in the field tonight, rest him tomorrow, and then play him in the field again sunday.  But no, we will see the offseason's worst signing continue to spike balls into the dirst on their way to first.

Rodriguez is done playing 3B!! If he could play there, he would have at some point this season.  He is a DH, nothing more!

A-Rod needs rest ... he is 40 years old ... you can't play him in the field and DH him ... especially at this time of the season.

He'll pinch hit for sure.

This is the most logical thing. He needs to be rested, he hasn't played regular third all year, and we need his bat all 17 games remaining. At 40, with those bionic hips, no way I play him at third all 3 games. Maybe 1. Maybe.

He'll be a valuable pinch hitter off the bench, he'll only be in the lineup for the last 14 games.. I agree A-Rod could use the rest and it will most likely do him a lot of good ...

You cannot put A Rod in the field on September 18. Not fair to him, the team or the fans. If A rod was 30 and had four good hips it would be a dumb thing to do. I think Headley might be as tired as A Rod...but we just don't have a good option.

as others have said, a-rod is done at 3B. suddenly you want to throw a 40 yr old guy w/ bad hips, a banged up knee who's only played a couple innings at third all season out there. can't make this up ...

Yeah, you DO worry about health right now.

17 games left in the season, and however far they go in the post-season. No days off left.

If they were playing the Mets the middle three at Citifield at the World Series, THEN I can see disussing this seriously.

But now? Nope, no way.

exactly. you get in the world series, then i can see management asking arod to take some balls at third just give girardi some options.
