3 days rest won't be a factor with keuchel but hopefully 3rd time is a charm. other than the game against us at the stadium, has decidely worse splits on the road. have patient at-bats and don't try to pull everything. can't get greedy with this team, will be happy getting into the alds.

I don't know if 3 days rest will be a factor with Keuchel.  Logic says he is young and strong and he'll be ok.  However, pitchers develop a routine of pitch day, off day, throw day, 2 rest days, and then back to pitch day.  Disrupting that routine has been a problem for as many pitchers as it hasn't.

The thing that is most concerning to me is the sudden lack of success against lefties the Yankees have had since August 1st.  Despite their lefty-laden lineup, they were actually quite successful against lefties in the first half of the year, even high quality lefties.  Since August 1st, they haven't done a damn thing.  Unless something changes on a dime, I think the Astros could throw Capuano at us and we wouldn't win.

We need a friggin GEM from Tanaka. If we dont get one at least its football season Hockey just started!

I'd tell Tanaka to go out and give us 5 strong innings and if we get more, that's nice too.  I'd back him up with Warren and Miller.  Betances would only be an if necessary option.  If Warren is pitching well, let him have the 6th, 7th, and 8th.  Of course, Joe won't do that...he'll use as many pitchers as he can to find the one that isn't "on" tomorrow.

I'm thinking they're going to be on the golf course on Wednesday if Tanaka gives up 2 or more runs.

The way they've played the last month, the odds are you're right.

More good news:

Nathan Eovaldi was supposed to throw a pen today. Did a sim game instead and said he expects to be ready for the division series.
