Yankees could release Alex Rodriguez before end of season, source says

If they are going to release ARod before the season ends or even in the offseason they should do it now.  They would gain a valuable roster spot for the month of August.  After 1 September when rosters expand ARod sitting on the bench only costs them money.   Now he is costing them money and a roster spot.

I'm with you. I'm surprised he's not higher.

Even scouts overly fall in love with the radar gun.

Also they don't like short pitchers who can't throw on a downward plane. Especially righties.

Yea I like what they're doing. Should be very interesting and a couple losing seasons would be worth another dynasty around the corner.

Yasiel Puig Not Traveling With Dodgers

With Frazier and Judge at Triple A there's no longer a need for Puig. But I would still trade Pineda for him.

I wouldn't be shocked if they dealt Pineda in the offseason. There isn't a lot of starting pitching available thru free agency this year.

I would but they also need some starting pitching. Reality is as good as our prospect base is now it is top heavy with every day players and not pitchers. There are a couple of guys potentially but they are a couple of years away. As for Puig no thanks. The guy is a head case and distraction we do not need. If we are rebuilding thi steam it should be with good talent and good make up of individuals.

Puig is Castro with more pure power and a worse attitude.

I'm sure they will. That doesn't mean he'll be claimed or they'll deal him though. If he's going to be dealt, it'll more than likely happen in the offseason, and probably to Atlanta if they can work out a deal.

That's exactly right and has a lot to do with his ranking. To expand on that many think it effects GB/FB ratio. That's about the only one of his peripherals not to like so there may be something to it.
