I guess I'm alot higher on Adams than most are.. He's way more advanced than Tate and Acevedo. He has a power arm too.
I'm with you. I'm surprised he's not higher.
Even scouts overly fall in love with the radar gun.
Also they don't like short pitchers who can't throw on a downward plane. Especially righties.
That's exactly right and has a lot to do with his ranking. To expand on that many think it effects GB/FB ratio. That's about the only one of his peripherals not to like so there may be something to it.
Whereas Whitey Ford was, what, 5'9" and threw an array of pitches, none hardly in the 95 range. Oh, yeah, times have changed and he was a LH starter. Does that give him a pass? So what about Enns? He's taller and . . . no one mentions him around here. Oh well, maybe he'll flop tonight and we can all rest w/out restless questions, dreaming about Adams et al. (whom I like very much, by the way) instead.

Right now the Yanks are only 4 GB in the WC standings. With 6 weeks to go before the trade deadline its not quite time to be throwing in the towel. You can't rebuild the team by trading a two month rental of Beltran and Chapman. Aside from RF all the positions are filled. Miller would net the most return but then they would have to find a closer for next year, which seems silly. Why try to fill one hole by making another one? Besides, I don't think any team will give up what the Yanks would want for Miller anyway. Actually, if they wanted to improve they would DFA A-Rod, make Beltran the DH and trade for a good RF'er.
BINGO!!! I don't understand some of the thinking here when it comes to trades.
because you're not going to win now even with Miller on the roster and they have so many needs they're not going to win next year either.
I guess 2017 turned out better than you thougt it would.

We were all wrong about 2017. That is why the Miller trade wasn't a good one and why I do not trust Cashman's judgement.

So, Cashmans' trades and drafts that GOT the Yankees to 1 game of the WS don't count FOR him, but the MIller trade (and I'm sure you can name others) count against him to the point of not trusting him ?
Life is better when the Yankees win !

For Cashman, the good news is that the only person whose trust matters is Hal.

George would have fired his ###!
Boone: You know my mama wanted me to be a Manager.
Judge: My dad wanted me to be a baseball player.
Boone: Well you're better than any player I ever had. And you're the best God damn player I ever saw. Suit up.

What do you mean by "We?"
Not me. Don't lump me in with your distorted thinking. I told people last season that the Yankees were a contender. I dare you to go back in these boards to prove me wrong. I dare you. There are only a few people whose judgement I trust. You are definitely not one of them. I think that all in all... Your done.

LOL...there were two Georges. The pre-banned the George or the post-ban George.
Did you know that George and Cashman almost got into a physical fight? Despite that, George didn't fire Cashman. Or perhaps George did and Cashman said "Scr*w it...I'm going to work any way."
The point being is this....George respected Cashman, ALOT.
George would've been 87 years old today. I don't think he would have had the energy and the mind to fire anybody today...or last season, or the season before that.
One more thing about Andrew Miller. Had he not been traded, you can add 9 more million to the Yankee payroll right now. I already had given all the reasons why that trade had to be made. As a matter of fact, trading Miller, when in 2016 is basically "GM-101."
