Whats your thoughts and the Mets trading for Headley big guy if the price was low?
If they had a replacement, and were probably willing to eat some of his contract, I'd be in favor of it. That's two big IFs though. The Mets could be looking now that Wright needs neck surgery.
I was thinking paying partially for the contract and only asking for a few low A arms.. You know those high risk high reward kids that usually dont work out but you never know....

You still have to find a replacement for 3rd base at some point. The Yankees have low A prospects coming out of their butt with all the international kids they signed 2 years ago and the draft picks for the last 2 years. I'll just throw this one out there. They might do a Headley for Harvey if the Yankees ate a chunk of money. Harvey seems to have fallen out of favor over there since last year and he is a Yankee fan. The replacement for 3rd, and the money would be the downside. Just something off the top of my head. That's the fun part about this time of year. You get to throw around different trade ideas, most of which are unrealistic. Better than watching this year's team though.

By Jeff Todd | JUNE 16: Baseball America’s Ben Badler has a free scouting report on Alvarez posted, though he notes that because of the 18-year-old’s lack of experience in Cuba’s Serie Nacional, his looks at Alvarez have been somewhat limited. Alvarez once had a lean build but has now filled out his 6’5″ frame and weighs in around 220 pounds. Badler notes that scouts who have seen him more praise his bat control and give him average to above-average power grades, but he’s a bit stiff and has limited flexibility at first base. The whole report is well worth a look and contains some video of Alvarez at the plate as well.
To the Dodgers it's only money.
Yep. They just cut another Cuban they signed the other day. Did you get that message I sent you the other day?
Thanks for pointing that out. I probably would have noticed in July at some point.
I wish they could trade Headley to the Mets. They would have to eat some and Hal wont appove that. Evan Roberts is saying with Wright needing surgery the Mets should sign Gurriel and he's right, just don't think the Wilpons will cough up the dough. I wish the Yanks would sign him and just put Headley at 1st but Tex will screw that up.Sign him for a few years and hopefully Andjuar can take over. This team needs a bat and a 3rd baseman.

I like that, and would do it in a heartbeat and just send Tex home. Headley looked good at 1st that first year they traded for him. Guriel would certainly be the guy for the next few years. I doubt Hal would spend the money unless he could dump some somewhere. The younger brother is the real prize.
"I asked Cespedes where he thinks Gourriel, 32, will wind up. Cespedes smiled and said, “All I know is that when I heard [Hector] Olivera was getting $62 million, my first thought was Yulieski is worth way more than that. I don’t know what team is going to pay what he is worth.”

Theo's going for it. I have no doubt. They've got the talent to be very good for awhile.

Headley for Harvey? Not happening. Not remotely happening. If the Mets trade Harvey, it'll be for prospects, not for a player who's suspect even to fill the hole they're trying to fill. I didn't really think so either. I threw that out there more or less for the people who want Headley gone.
