the Yankees do seems to be a little slow in promoting players.
A lot slow, Ray. if Machado, Correa, Harper etc. were in the Yankees system they'd still all be at AAA.
Those guys are in a class way above anybody the Yankees have had in their farm system in many years. Everybody on the planet knew they were going to be studs. That's a product of those teams being bad and getting very high draft picks.

True, I was being sarcastic, but you get my drift of the Yankees tendencies over the years to reluctantly bring up talent. The last I remember is Cano and Wang. It took forever to get Ref up and Judge is still at AAA. In most cases Yankee prospects are brought up and they're 25-26 years old. It's time to take a chance, and I don't mean bringing them up for a week, play them one game and send them back down. The whole mentality on this, by the FO, is really screwed up.

At times they do hold some of their kids back for various reasons, but the are not the only team to do that. They have individual goals they set for each kid in their progress. You can certainly argue they've done a bad job developing the talent they have had and have drafted poorly to begin with. There are case though where they have moved kids fairly fast, and Montero and Severino pop in my head. Both were just turning 21 when they were already at AAA and were the youngest in the league. Sanchez was also very young for AAA. These guys were all clearly upper talent guys and deserved the promotion. I'm not arguing against Mateo being promoted, but his numbers this year have not been outstanding. He was clearly better last year. He's also blocked right now at Trenton because of Wade, who in turn is blocked at AAA. Personally I would dump the vets at AAA and give that kid the promotion and then that would open a spot for Mateo at Trenton, if they feel he deserves it. I also do think that sometimes they have thin skin in a situation like this.

Just wait until Cito Culver makes it big, you'll all be eating crow.

We dump Levine Trost Cashman and Sterling before we dump this kid.
Dump the others , yes. But Sterling does not deserve to be lumped with the others.
[

That might work. Levine and Trost scare easily.
then send Jonah after them.
