If these reports are true, he should stew in his own juices for some time. He is not a kid. What he, and many others are lacking, is a moral foundation. Jeter was younger then him when he made his debut. He didn't whine, he worked his tail off. Same for Mo, Andy, etc. You don't whine your way to a promotion, you EARN it. We don't need this manifesting. Send him home for the season and have him fight his way to a spot next year at SI Yanks.
He's a 21 year old young man. He got suspeneded for mouthing off because he wants to be promoted. It's my understanding that he didn't complain in the media. No big deal.
If you complain to your boss at your job for a similar issue do you think its no big deal? he needs to understand he needs to follow protocol. Heck one story I saw was he was demanding that they move a player out of AA so he can move up. You want a teammate like that potentially back stabbing you. As we use to say a slap on the butt once in a while does wonders even though in today's world that is frowned upon.

Oh, the follies of youth! To be young and dumb again. I think I'll take the aches and pains and stiff joints of old age. 21 year-olds do not have it together as a general rule. Maybe a some do - but they just don't have the life expierence and perspective to see the big picture. I have see many a 21 year-old do really dumb things and then grow into being really great people.

I want competitive players. Sometimes you have to temper that fire, but I'd like to hear the true stort before passing judgment.

It's not like this went unpunished. Haven't read anywhere that this kid has been an ongoing problem and the thought of trading a 20 year old because of one incident seems foolish to me.
