while I understand why Joe did it, I hate when he puts Didi in the 4 spot. I think it changes his approach. I'd love to see Didi be a 280 hitter with 10 or 12 homers hitting 7 or 8 in the lineup. I don't like him up top because his obp sucks.

Not counting Beltran who is gone there is an excellent chance if Didi continues sliding that we will have nobody finish the season at .280 or above. You can't count Sanchez becasue he hasn't been here for the entire season. And the Red Sox are hitting .286 as a team so that in itself will tell you just how much better their lineup is than ours.

newinn-Agree about Didi but who do you bat 4th? Castro with his lack of plate discipline presents some of the same issues. In a good lineup Castro and Didi would hit near the bottom. Maybe 6th and 7th or 7th and 8th. With the Yankees current roster you can't put out a lineup that is going to be consistantly productive. Tex is not a middle of the lineup hitter anymore and neither is McCann. Maybe Judge can be some day but he isn't now. We don't have any good options to bat 4th or 5th.Headley is another one who has no business batting 4th or 5th but somebody has to bat there.

Move Castro and Didi up and move Gardner down. I still don't understand why Joe keep making Gardner lead off. Put your BEST hitters high in the lineup so the get the most ABs

All-or-nothing thinking is the most common type of negative thinking, and it is a common cause of anxiety, depression, and addiction. All-or-nothing thinking leads to anxiety because you think that any mistake is a failure. You worry that any mistake may expose you to criticism or judgment

Yep players have flaws.. His is his inability to take a walk.. 15 walks for the year! That being said i am glad he is on the team. Ideally Sanchez would bat 4th right now but i dont think we have a typical 3 hitter or for that matter a 5. If Judge turns it around i see him as more of a 6.

Lead off hitters job is to get on base and right now Gardner is the best on the team at that... How many times has then been explained to you?

Not to mention they have 6 guys with 20+ HR's, yet they're only 4 1/2 games behind them. Then there's the O's with a zillion HR's 5 guys over .280 and only 3 1/2 game behind them. It's a miracle.

geez, how about because Didi and Castro have terrible on base percentages and Garners is the highest on the team

yeah Lifer, Joe is forced to hit guys in spots that do not always fit that players skill level
