What we need going into 2019:

--pitchers (who can go more than 3 innings!)
--dump Cessa & German
--Trade Gray (Already in the works, I hear)
--as much as I like him, Sabathia's time is up
--ditto with Gardner
--let go of Rothchild
--new batting coach who knows more about getting base hits than HRs (like a Boggs type)

Feel free to add to the list. . .

--ditto with Gardner  Pick up his option, no way.  But $4 mil plus the $2 mil buyout, $6 mil total as he 4th OF?  Sure.
--let go of Rothchild
--new batting coach who knows more about getting base hits than HRs (like a Boggs type)  We would all like to see the situational hitting improve.  Too many runners at 3B with less than 2 outs that don't score.  Too many times with the bases loaded, no outs and zero or at most one run scored, Too many klead off doubles  where the inning ends with the guy still at 2B.  The list goes on.  But if they replace Thames it would be something like the 5th batting coach in the past 6 or 7 yers and nothing changes.  Ultimately the players have to wnt to adjust.

Feel free to add to the list. . .

A bench or pitching coach to whom Boone HAS to listen about pitching changes.  Too many still close games were put out of reach because he left the SP in too long or brought in an AJ Cole who promptly put the game out of reach.

another LH bat, 2 if Didi is going to miss more than half the season

under "new batting coach," someone who can help Stanton stop chasing pitches 10"-12" off the plate

One thing I agree with Rob is we need to get starting pitching that can have less than 80-90 pitches in the 4th inning... Don't know how many watched the Astros vs. RS last night but the RS had the same problem  as we usually do, after two innings Sale had 40 some pitches and Verlander had like 15, and it continued, Sale was out of the game and their lies the fat of most games...

No doubt we need hitters that take a different approach and try to hit for a little more average, it's a known fact, home runs come when you just make solid contact, you don't have to swing as hard as you can..

Our needs a pretty simple we need a couple starters that do what I've stated above and we need at least one or two left handed bats that can hit for average and not strike out every other at bat...
