How will Mets broadcasters react to Robinson Cano's reputation for not hustling?

Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling will no doubt comment on the Robinson Cano/Edwin Diaz Mariners-Mets trade that shook the baseball community on Saturday night.

But the challenge for SNY’s Mets crew will come once the season starts.

With all the scrambling to report the pieces involved in a trade being negotiated, there was little or no chatter about Cano’s reputation for not hustling, one gained during his stint with the Yankees.

With Cano, 36, coming to Queens, it will be with much fanfare if only because it marks Brodie Van Waggenen’s first “splashy” trade.

Yet that won’t play in July if Cano, a PED cheater, strolls out of the box on his way to first.

What will Cohen, Darling and Hernandez say? Will they put moderate heat on him and let him slide, like they basically did when Yoenis Cespedes loafed?

Or will they put Cano under a legitimate microscope? Also, will they wonder why BVW, Cano’s former agent, took a chance on his former client?

Answer: They roasted him.
