Idiot is a big of a strong word, but by and large I actually agree with you on this one.  He was supposed to be an offensive guru/genius, and while in fariness the offense was hampered by an old and immobile QB playing behind a bad O-line, his usage of Barkley was poor in my mind.  Yeah he's so good that he racked up gaudy stats, but he should've been lined up wide more in the passing game - he'd be a total mismatch against any LB and most safeties too - instead he just caught a ton of dump offs behind the line of scrimmage.  He also ran between the tackles way too often for a guy with his speed.
