Tulo is going to be another Stephen Drew. He only played 66 games the past two seasons and is injury-prone. He's well past his prime.
So what do we do? Sign him for 1 year with full no-trade protection? Stupid move.
We would have been MUCH better off re-sgining Hechavarria (sp?) & Toe and they could have filled the void until Didi gets back. At least Toe is a contact hitter and Hech can get his hits as well.
That was our problem last year--too many people swinging for the fence. It was all or nothing. The Sux weren't better than us--they just played differently and went for the hits. We struck out a lot by going for the homers, resulting in too many LOBs.
Tulo is just going to an automatic out on the lineup.
Thoughts?
They signed him for the league minimum 555,000. Toronto is stuck paying the rest of his contract. They can dfa him any time they want.
