Mussina on cusp of Hall of Fame

Mussina is the victim of a few missed outs. Perfect games in Boston (and maybe another one in Detroit w/ Orioles) were broken up in the 9th. The bloop single in AZ off Rivera denide him a WS ring. Benitez blew a save on him in Baltimore, denying him a 20 win season.  None of this should matter in the voting but many voters look at stats like these.

Mussina was one of the greatest FA signings for our Yankees.  The guy was durable and consistent.  If he were to get in, will he be sporting a Yankees jersey or Orioles???

While still on the basketball court, Mussina was excited hearing news that he was told to keep to himself until the MLB Network televised the Hall of Fame results early Tuesday evening.

“I was still in the gym … so we finished up practice, then my son and I got out of there,” Mussina said in a teleconference. “My wife was out with one of her friends at dinner. I had to text one of my sons at college. My phone has been … I’ve got a new record for text messages on my phone!”

As for his hat, no decision yet.

I know Curt Schilling is probably rooting for Mussina to get in, because he has the same general stats.

Schilling was on steroids, doubt he makes it.
