Not like that is any big deal or anything, just throwing that out there as I am trying to find out if there are any of the posters from the old Yankees messsage board that post here on a regular basis....

I think it is going to be a championship year in 2019 for the Yankeees, and would love to catch up with some familar "faces" and see what they are thinking about this team coming into this season....

There are a few ... but there is another board ... I don't know the name ... that's where most of them went to.

Welcome! (Mickey Mouse isn’t here btw nor on the NYY fansforum where I just saw your first post.) Curious, what’s your take on the Gambler GM? Has he solved more or opened up more questions with his brilliant offseason? A lot of apologists on this board and just wanna get your pulse on the great logjammer.

Hi, Carolina. There are a few of us orphans that fled here after the murder of the old Yankees message board. I believe most of the old regulars fled to a message board of their own making. In fact, I think the message board is owned and operated by the poster who went by the nickname BiasedNihlist, and you shouldn't have trouble finding his message board called something like the Nihilist Bookie Challenge or some such. He and many of the regulars were here posting in the days immediately after the murder of the old Yankees message board. He was here posting the news of the formation of his new message board for a couple of weeks after the murder of the old Yankees message board but I havent seen him or any of those regulars post here since then other than a select few of us. Initially, their new message board could be browsed by anyone without needing to log in to see the posts. Shortly after the creation of that message board they made it so that you have to log in just to read the posts, and so I stopped going. I really wish they would do away with having to log in just to read. I love reading. I don't always have time to post but I read the posts on message boards several times a day whenever I have a few quiet minutes. I don't like having to sign in just to read. So, I frequent the YES message boards now. The conversations aren't as numerous here as they were on that old Yankees message board but the posters are quite friendly and polite here. There is a far greater degree of civility here than there was on the old Yankees message board. Even the most heated discussions here never take on the tone that they did over there. I really miss reading the posts by the regulars of that old message board. I wish they would post here, too. Happy to see you again, though.

I am not a Cashman apologist or a basher. I think he is a good GM but I also think his hands are tied by those above him.  I think the offseason was fine, expected more of a splash but when it comes down to it, I see a team with very few holes and should be a legit contender for a title provided they dont get blown up with injuries.  I am concerned about the corner infield defense, and hopefully Sanchez can improve on the passed balls, but those are fairly small problems and think the vast majority of teams have much bigger isues they should be concerned about.  The Red Sox for instance, as of 1-26-19, that pen is terrible.  I expect they will tighten things up before the season starts but right now, that has to be a big concern for their fanbase.

Hey Maple, thanks for the reply.  I am on that other forum run by niles but there is not much Yankee talk there so out looking for other forums where more discussion is taking place.

A few others here from YMB including "jimwest", "cleanup". "Brawl" showed up several times under different SNs..."unclejunior" being one. Think he's been banned several times. "Nettles" has registered here, but doesn't post. He's still posting on "Niles" board last time we communicated. Apparently some turmoil there (surprise!) and a few of the old YMB posters have left or been subjectively banned.

One of the reasons it's much more civil here is the separation of the political threads from the baseball threads...as it should be.
