Hicks and Harper have nothing to do with each other. Harper is a bad defender and cannot play CF. If Hicks is gone after this year, even with Harper the Yankees would still need a CFer.
Ehh, I don't know. I hope you're right. Hicks (lifetime .236 hitter, average 11 HRs and 40 RBIs per season) is the new Gardner: a walking definition of mediocrity, yet he endures on this team year after year.

How I hate when these writers say that the Yankees outfield is so crowded or overpopulated but than go on and talk about Machado. Last I saw was we had 4 outfielders not including our DH in Stanton. And can we even consider Frazier who has headache and concussion problems as a player. So if he bangs into a wall he is out indefinitely. So than we are down to three. A 35 year old outfielder who is on the downside of his career in Gardner who I love but even I knows you don't get better with age unless your name is steroid users in Bonds or Ortiz. So we down to two. Our two probably best players if you go by the last two years. But both has had injuries last year. So that is our outfield and no young players to come up. And I mean none. So this is why I say Harper is the player the Yankees has to focus on. We went out and got McCutchen last year and it worked great. We need a left handed bat and an outfielder and that has to be BRYCE HARPER !!

You said he was a .200 hitter, not a .200 hitter in the post season. A lot of good players don't have good post season numbers. Gardner has been a more than serviceable for 10 years as his numbers show. If you'd get past your blind hate you would see that.
