Watching the MLB network and they talking about Spring Training Battles. And they start talking about the Yankee situation at first. So they basically saying that they either heard from a beat writer or assume one of either Bird or Voit will only start the season and there won't be a platoon. There could be a trade. Then they start saying what Cashman wants to do, is what he has done in the past. And that was to put a 2nd baseman like Lemehau or Tuto at First   Do we Rember the Kelly Johnson Fiasco and his errors !!!  I will tell you this GM is giving me ulcers !!!  If he gets rid of Voit I will have a Conniption. I just don't trust this Clueless GM, since he has his guys and Bird was one of his draft picks who actually sticked. So what do you think guys? Would the Yankees be better with Voit and Bird if they both have a great Spring Training?   I look at it this way. We have 12 pitchers, 2 catchers, 4 outfielders, 1DH, and 6 infielders. And the infielders are Bird, Voit, LeMehau, Tuto, Torres and Andujar. Sorry Tyler Wade until we see what Bird could do you go back to triple A. And I want that Left handed bat if Bird could at least hit .250 to .265.

Hope you are right. Bird seems to be a Spring Training Warrior and then falls on his face in the regular season. Look he had his moments but I see Voit like a smaller version of Giambi. The reason I was saying to keep Bird on the roster is because we don't have any left handed power. I mean you have an occasional HR from Gardner but all your cards are on Hicks. And hopefully after signing a contract he doesn't fall on his face and give us a bad year.

Point is he got killed last year with the fast ball, and he is still getting beat by AAA pitchers in ST who throw smoke.  Sorry, but to me it is time for Cash to admit Bird is just not a consistent ball player, no matter how many times he looks like the real deal.  It lasts for a week or two and then he crashes and burns or worse, gets hurt.  So it is one thing or another with him looks like to me. Since the Yankees are so high on analytics, IMO maybe they should actually look at his stats on staying on the field, and also look at what he does when he is on the field for a reasonable amount of time. He has trouble with the fast ball. With the flame throwers of today, that is one analytic they need to look at of his and be concerned about since it has been in front of them for three years. I understand the guy works hard and has talent, but over Voit, to me, it is a no brainer who gets the job. Unless Bird crushes Voit stat wise, from here on out until the season starts, I would say it is Bye Bye Birdy.  

I hope you are right and Cashman finally admits it. If he picks him over Voit there will be a Revolt.

 He's a lifetime .236 hitter who can't seem to stay off the IL. They're all bad years. And the Yankees just signed him to a long-term deal??  I guess they're betting that as he ages he'll be less injury-prone. As Katnip the Cat would say, "Hmmm, that sounds logical!"

It's too bad but one is not going to make the 25 man roster, Ca$hman has added a couple of players that can be a very good utility infielder, so one of Bird/Voit will most likely be sent down or traded if they can get something for them ??
