!'m not ruling out that they keep both if they perform like they have been doing so far in ST. Their Stats in 2019 ST are close. Both are doing well. Bird is ahead,  overall, but like many have pointed out it is ST. In ST Bird does very well.  No clue as to why unless he feels the pressure more at the stadium and he is more relaxed in a non stressful environment..

Luke doesn't look like anything bothers him to be honest, and back in the day MLB teams gave phycological profiles a lot more importance then they seem to do now. Mental toughness was very important to teams back in the day. It is all about analytics today. It will really be a tough call if they both look good in ST and although it was said Luke has the edge, I didn't believe that when Cashman said it, and I don't believe it now especially after he and Boone already have back peddled on their statements.

To me, sending one down, verses keeping both with the big club, looks more and more like a catch 22. Whoever is kept up, if they slow start, Cashman and Boone  will be 2nd guessed from now until forever, and if they both start mashing no matter where they are, up or down, I would like to see both up here, but Tyler Wade is making that really tough to do. Looks like a fight until opening day so far. Fun to watch, but I can imagine stressful as hell on the players. Here's where that mental toughness comes into play I guess.

Side bar here: What is going on with Gardner? He is certainly playing like he wants to be a starter.

you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

I'd love to see Bird finally realize his potential....we need a productive lefty in the lineup. But Voit was such a positive force down the stretch that it seems crazy to not give him first dibs. Maybe Bird will get injured again and solve this "issue"....lol

Bird is a head case puit all the injuries aside.  His mental state is not good for baseball.  G Bird will never make it you heard it here.

So now you're a psychatrist too? Seems to me you need one. Where the hell do you come up with these gems??? You watch him in a handful of post game interviews and suddenly you know his mental state??

Do you know what's it like for a baseball player mentally to know that in the back of his head he cannot stay healthy and also not hit very well?  I'm no Dr but the weight of this in the back of his mind cannot be good for any ball player.  I'm sure you heard the same this game is all mental.

If a baseball goes into a slump his mental state is keeping him from doing good thus why they have slumps and cannot get them selves outta it sometimes.

With all the stuff going bad for G Brid how do you think he feels mentally?  He many never put it together ever not because he gets hurt to often or he cannot hit a FB.  All that weight in your head is not good.  G Bird will never be good and he'll never come outta this SLUMP.  You heard it here.

So you meant to say "Bird is often injured, and also bird is self aware that he's often injured" and the rest of the exaggeration you just made up

You asserted that his mental state isn't fit for baseball, and then tied his mental state to your speculation about how he probably feels getting injured. So basically you're saying because he's injured, his mental state isn't fit for baseball

One doesn't need to play baseball to understand circular logic

Or in his case, dumb logic.
