To early to cry and whine about yesterday's game. Real fans get that. We got beat, we lost to a bad team. It happens. Next. But this is a discussion board about the Yankees, early, late, or in between. What I will say is Gardner looks like he is a hundred years old the way he looked yesterday and Thursday wasn't much better. The team made a great bid in the ninth except for Stanton who seems to have the same struggles most of the time that he is in a big spot. Andujuar had a game I am sure even he is disgusted with, and of course his number 5 spot in the order was key all game and it just didn't work out. Today hopefully the team will rebound from one of the strangest losses I have seen in a long time. That's what happens early in the season. Paxton pitched a hell of a game, Holder did not, and the offense struggled with RISP. To early to see any kind of a pattern developing. But let me add the Yankees have a habit of not showing up against a bad team. I give yesterdays game a pass. That's early baseball. I give a Yogi. I just don't want to see it "get late early."

Yes, Gardner already looks like he always does in August and September. We let McCutchen go to sign Gardner. Hopefully, Cashman has a backup plan that doesn't only involve Frazer being ready to play LF. Cashman shouldn't have signed Hicks (always gets hurt) to a multi-year contract. If Gardner keeps this up, the Yankees fans will start chanting "Harper" very soon.

You do know McCutcheon signed a ridiculous contract don't you?The Yankees weren't about to pay that kind of money for him. That being said , if the price was right I would have like them to re-sign him.

As we know, Gardner goes hot and cold on offense. He'll starting hitting, getting on base, etc. soon enough. It's still very early.

The Yankees didn't even make an offer. Maybe, he would've stayed. Now, we're stuck with Old Gardner.

Maybe it's time to take Gardy aside and tell him that "elevate" the ball isn't his game. The occasional home run is less preferable to squaring up the ball. His lofting can a corn fly balls is getting us nowhere.

Agreed. The home run approach is killing this team. When slap hitters like Gardner are elevating the ball, it's not a good sign. All we've heard is that they're going to break the home run record. Who cares! I'd rather them say that they're going to win the World Series.
