After everyone expected the Yankees to make some big signings this offseason, the worst case scenario for Cashman has occurred. The Yankees were expected to sign two or three of the following: Corbin, Machado or Harper. They didn't sign any of them. Why? They cost too much. Really? Cashman put his eggs in the Gardner, Andujar and Hicks basket. So far, the bet is not paying off.
He should've signed McCutchen or Brantley instead of Gardner. He should've never extended Hicks. Machado is a proven offensive player with a better defense than Andujar. Right now, Andujar's future as a third baseman is in doubt. Now. Tulo is hurt. All the moves that Cashman has made to cover for Didi have not worked out so far. He didn't want Torres playing fulltime at SS. Harper was the one to get. You can never have too many outfielders. Of course, now we know how true that is.
Sooner or later, the fans will be chanting "Machado" and "Harper" as they keep losing. They could lose 2 of 3 to Baltimore and next is Houston. The Yankees could be 4 and 8 by next week.

The worst case scenario for the Gambler GM is for the whole team to underperform while remaining healthy. That way he can’t blame his failures on dumb luck like injuries again this year. A lot of idiot fans eat that crappola up too, despicable pikers Learn to aim higher and raise those standards to you Trashman apologists and maybe Hal will listen and dump the bum.

Cash has pressed every button wrong including Boone. Sabermetrics is ruining the game. Unwatchable

The Yanks are losing the FO war with this hack in charge. No feel for the game. He needs to win the division this year, nothing else is acceptable and hopefully Hal doesn’t buy into the injury bug BS if ( or when) they fall short for the seventh yr straight.

Reminder that the 2009 World Champion New York Yankees were 15-and-17 on May 12th. They had a 16-game stretch where they went 6-and-10, and a 21-game stretch where they went 9-and-12. After the All-Star break including the post season, they went 63-and-30. Baseball season wisdom — It is a marathon, not a sprint, and it isn't about how cold you start but about how hot you finish. Kick back, relax, enjoy the baseball, don't get too caught up in the drama in April. There is a long, long, long way to go still.

With Boone at the Helm, I'm worried. Seems to not have a very good grasp of the Bullpen and his hitters. What happened to Right-Center? Jeets made a Hall of Fame career out of it. I guess that's not Flashy enough for these younger players nowadays....

True, but Torre was the manager then, and not bogged down/distracted by the "analytics" fetish of his GM. (Cashman was just learning, i.e., becoming indoctrinated.) On the other hand, w/ you I'm sure we'll right the ship at some point during the season.
