New team. New management. New ideas. But the same old Rangers. They are 2-4 and the bottom of the Patrick, err, Metropolitan division.

I get it. They need time to gel as a team. But I'm so tired. Tired of waiting. Tired of waiting for you.

They have managed to win only one Cup in my lifetime and I am now an official senior citizen! That is pathetic considering they are an original six team from NY no less!

Their porous defense has not helped the goalies and since they don't have a top tier, elite netminder anymore they need all the help they can get.

Zbanejad, Panarin and Trouba are the real deal but the others need to step up.

They were a powerhouse in 2014 and blew it to the Kings. It has been all down hill since then.

Another bright light for the Rangers is goalie Shestyorkin or however he spells it.

In 5 games with the Wolfpack he is 5-0 with a 1.18 GAA and a .955 save percentage. It is still early and he still must learn to play in the NHL but his stats are promising.

That is what the Rangers need to be competive in the future because they won't go far with their current netminders.

quiz, I understand your frustration, but if you are looking for this team to become competitive overnight, you are going to have a long season. Many Ranger fans I know on another forum you are aware of have the same outlook.
They just don't have the patience that JD said in his press conference, when he told Ranger Fans to be patient, this is a work in progress and will not happen over night.
If you want an example I will give you some. This Rangers Rebuild, which has just started, and is only 6 games into the season, is now in the same boat, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Edmonton Oilers were in 3 years ago, and it took those 3 years of patience to get to where they are now, a top team in the NHL.
And I might add, it took those three years despite the fact that both these teams had more than one number one overall pick on their team. Something the Rangers do not have.
There is no way that this Ranger team, right now is going to be what many Ranger fans have no patience. to wait for this season.
Rangers have one of the youngest teams in the NHL today. New players, new lines and linemates, which Coach Quinn is still trying to find out what his lines will be. He can't depend on 1 line with Mika, Panarin, or Buch. He knows he needs all 4 lines to be successful.
Forwards and D combos.

They will get better going forward, but if many have no patience after 6 games, you are in for a long season.

For years Ranger fans, were screaming for young players and not over the hill stars to win it now.
Well we all got what we wanted, but many have no patience to see it through.
Again, quiz I respect your views and your knowledge of the game, but I have no problem, with the Rangers now, I am not expecting Miricles, and I think they are going about it the right way,
They have the right coach and GM, and President.

Look at this, the 2 teams that were fighting for the Cup Last season were built by the Rangers GM Gorton ( Boston) and St Louis, who was built by J D.
Hang in there my friend, watch it grow. It's a work in progress.

Tony, I hope you're right about this team.

I remember the last disappointing total rebuild when they traded Leetch away 15 years ago. My pessimism with this team comes from years of expericence and frustration. I wish I had your optimism.

They are sitting Staal and HL sat for the last two. I'd bet that makes them the youngest team in the NHL. Quinn sees something in Georgiev who has been great his last two outings only allowing one goal in each game. But can he keep that up until Shestyorkin gets promoted? And can the young Russian rise to top tier status in the NHL like he did in the KHL? These are two big "ifs" but if they come to fruition the Rangers will be unstoppable.

quiz I see improvment with only 8 games into the season. The young kids are working hard. Rangers just beat 2 top NHL teams. Tampa and Nashville. They are playing more physical, and buying into coach Quinn's system after he chewed their A$$ out.
I like what I see And I am very happy the way they are developing.

Yeah, Giorgiev looked great those two games and then gets lit up by the worst team in the league.

Then HL has a great night after sitting for three games by only letting one puck find the back of the net.

If Quinn could only teach consistency.

DeAngelo looks great. I saw a graphic yesterday that showed the Ranger's D as the third highest scoring in the NHL so far this season.

Two great back to back wins for HL. I didn't think he had it in him. He is the reason that they beat the relentless Hurricanes.

Awful goaltending led to 9 goals last night.

If this nonsense keeps up the future looks bright for Shesterkin and Huska.

Big game tomorrow againt the best in the league Capitols.

They can easily turn on the red goal light but I think they also let in a few more goals than our netminders have so far this season.

This will be a great learning experience for the youngsters. I can't wait until this team blossoms. And as any Ranger fans knows it has always been a loooong wait.

The Rangers were down 4-0, got serious and won 6-5.

The offense is awakening but the defense and goaltending still need improvement.
