If a Yankee fan is standing on a long line waiting for tickets and a Red Sox fan gives that Yankee fan a bottle of water. Does that Yankee fan suddenly become a Red Sox fan? lol

There has been a long history of paying for votes.  This should not be controlversial.

I wasn't talking about history, I was talking about Georgia's new law. Unless you think that someone who's waiting on a long line is going to change their vote because they were given a bottle of water.

The law gives food or beverage as an example but it doesn't specifically say water.  The lW is don't go to a line of voters and give them things and the DNC responded with the absurd water narrative.   Are you a fan of vote harvesting?   Taking care of that and IDs were the meat of the legislation but there was no narrative to cook up on that.  People don't still believe it's racist to demand an ID you can get for free.

The American-hating bigots who supported the anti-democratic law in Georgia should be ashamed of themselves.

Voters had made up their mind prior to getting on line.  No amount of water/nut bars are going to sway voters from making a 180 degree turn. Those on line for hours are committed to vote their conscience.  Otherwise they would stay home.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's beyond ridiculous to claim a voter is gonna be influenced by being given a bottle of water.
It's obvious that first, they're making the time required to stand in line longer by cutting back on polling location personnel, then make it as uncomfortable as possible for those standing in line.
Those people who are still supporting Trump and his enablers, present and former, and who condone or even promote the extreme behaviors we are seeing in the red states have to be regarded as morally and ethically deficient.
This desperate ploy and pathetic attempt by GA Rs to disenfranchise an entire voting bloc shows just how scared they are.
Instead of doing their jobs and legislating for everyones benefit they are wasting time desperately trying to remain in power. We have an economy designed to benefit only about 30% of us, an out of control global pandemic and 39% of the goofy GOP denies reality and truly believes that Tяumpet won.
There is work to do but not this blatant, power grab BS by the GOP.
MN lawyer sanctioned $10,000 for filing election challenges without plaintiffs’ knowledge
‘To my horror, I saw that I had sued Steve Simon and Ilhan Omar,’ a plaintiff said
A Trump-supporting Minnesota lawyer was sanctioned for fraud after she duped people into signing affidavits in bogus election challenge lawsuits.
A boycott of Everything Georgia Republican, including corporations with GOP leanings, is called for at this point.  A thunderous and resounding "NO!" must follow their rash moves to undermine democracy.
I already only watch the Yankees in the AS Game, are they trying to get me to completely tune out?  If you want to endear yourself to the fans don't antagonize half of them.
I am still waiting for anyone to voice their defense of vote harvesting.  You were audacious enough to defend card check about a decade ago.
Supporting the freedom-hating right and their support of voter suppression tactics.  Give someone a bottle of water in a voting line of hours of waiting and go to jail. Only mentally ill people come up with that BS.
(a) No person shall solicit votes in any manner or by any means or method, nor shall any person distribute or display any campaign material, nor shall any person solicit signatures for any petition, nor shall any person, other than election officials discharging their duties, establish or set up any tables or booths on any day in which ballots are being cast:
(1) Within 150 feet of the outer edge of any building within which a polling place is established;
(2) Within any polling place;  or
(3) Within 25 feet of any voter standing in line to vote at any polling place.
This is the supposedly offending language in the bill.  It doesn't mention water.  It's obvious you shouldn't be soliciting or giving anything to strangers in line to vote but they had to put it in writing because people were crossing the line and the President and media jumped on the most insignificant example.  If you are going to get thirsty in line bring your own beverage.  Do we need trash cans and lavatories at all polling facilities?  This is getting absurd.  The real point of the law was voter ID and stopping vote harvesting.
The real point of the law is voter suppression of non-Republican voters. The problem the country has is most eligible Americans do not vote, even those who bother to register to vote don't vote. Only lying liars on the lying right lie about a voter integrity problem.
The late Paul Weyrich, co-founder of the Moral Majority, was no fan of those so-called “good government” types.
They had what he called the “goo-goo syndrome.”
“They want everybody to vote,” he told the Religious Roundtable in August 1980. “I don’t want everybody to vote. Elections are not won by a majority of people. They never have been from the beginning of our country, and they are not now. As a matter of fact, our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down.”
Weyrich died in 2008, but his philosophy lives on.
Other GOP led states are emboldened and are already following GAs lead at undermining democracy.
The SCOTUS will eventually have to rule on this.
Republicans will try to delay, delay, delay the process to ensure those anti-voting laws remain on the books until the midterm elections in an effort to remain and regain.
These fools can Tom, Tom, Tom all they want but no matter the outcome, Abrams is going to run and defeat Kemp in 2022.
The only thing that these overtly racist tactics will accomplish is to strengthen the resolve of the Black voting bloc and other non-white voters who realize that they are next on the GOP's hit list.
Georgia GOPs are going out of their mind after losing two senatorial races.  Warnock's reelection is due. GOPs are going ballistic in doing whatever it takes to turn the tides. Reducing voting sites in black communities, shortening hours, reducing poll workers...and last but not least let them perish from dehydration with hours on line and no agua.
