The American Gun Culture piles up more body count in a runaway kill-fest that should test the boundaries of the Crazy Zone our lawmakers occupy.  In the Crazy Zone, where security provided to our "leaders" gives them partial immunity, there is little motivation to do what needs to be done to save the general population.  Mumbled short prayers and platitudinal words of condolence and comfort are about all we can expect after each bloodletting incident.  They stood by when kids were slaughtered in school shootings, FGS!  Some of our elected officials even suggested that several school shootings were staged events with actors playing the victims.

Once again, we ask, "When will it end?"

Flags at half-staff ain't enough.  We need to fight our own version of "The Great Patriotic War" right here on American soil.  How 'bout a campaign to melt down guns for metal to build our new bridges and buildings?

The biggest problem that we have is a violence problem, not a gun problem.  Even if we could successfully remove guns from our country (which will never happen), it doesn't solve the violence problem.  If someone who is intent on violence doesn't have access to a gun, they could very easily go to their local Home Depot and buy all of the items necessary to build a bomb to blow up a building and inflict the same, if not more, damage.

There are certain parts of gun safety legislation that I can wholly get behind but if we don't address our numbness to the effects of violence or the decades of destruction of the family and community unit, then there will still be violence in many forms.  If someone offered a violence control bill with common sense gun regulation along with expansion of our mental healthcare system to address 21st century issues, I would be the first to get behind it.

Why worry about vaccines?  Just because the CDC prohibits the use of J&J and Astazeneca?  The same CDC that botched the test kits by developing them in an unsanitary environment delaying the rollout by a month.

The crisis that has now enveloped the nation is a vastly different one—a pandemic called covid-19. The Presidency that faces it is also a vastly different one. Donald Trump’s ascent has been framed by two of his most characteristic remarks: “I alone can fix it” and “I don’t take responsibility at all,” and the journey from one to the other has been long and excruciating.

Well, as we now know, especially the 500,000 plus dead people, Worst President Ever Donnie was horrible at the fix-it part but great at taking no responsibility part.

More than a quarter of those deaths have been on Biden’s watch.  Good Ole Joe liked to talk like Trump was responsible for all US deaths from a global pandemic.  Well now that nasty Ole man holds the hot potato.  Come on Joe, they are wearing the masks and locked down like you ordered.  Why didn't you save them?

And we as a country are so lucky to have Good Ole Joe handling that hot potato over the gross incompetence of Worst President Ever Donnie.  Only the pro-death right deludes themselves into believing that mask-wearing, vaccinations, and locked downs are not effective tools in controlling the COVID-19 crisis.  Good Ole Joe inherited the Trump-created mess, and he is doing a great job in spite of dumb GOP governors who part of the pro-COVID community.

The evidence is becoming empirical and overwhelming that the lockdowns didn't work.  Having a spontaneous family gathering.  4 generations, 20 relatives, build your own tacos with a backyard cookout.  I suppose our July 4th celebration will be one for the ages.
