The Electoral College must be allowed to expire. What made sense 200 years ago does not work today.

Granted, we are a republic, not a true democracy but even the UK eventually realized that a monarchy does not work.

One man, one vote or your N Korea.

Will Mitch McConnell and the Senate GOP caucus try to assert minority rule to mess with Biden's SCOTUS pick?

Is the Pope a Catholic ?? You know they will, everything in their power to disrupt every/any thing Joe Biden tries to get done... It will come down to the two

Dems we have in the Senate for sure..

The Republicans are no doubt chaffing at the idea that they will not be able to steal yet one more seat on the court.

Josh Hawley, the fist-raising, insurrectionist-loving GOP senator who cheered on the Capitol mob, is already running his mouth about the need for Biden to nominate a SCOTUS candidate who will "uphold the Constitution".

GOP minority rule asserts itself again as NM Senator Ben Ray Luhan's stroke leaves the Dems a man short with no proxy voting allowed.

Thankfully his surgery went well and his docs expect a full recovery.

I wonder if he has to be physically present to vote?

Lindsey Graham of all people said he suppoprted Biden's pick of a Black woman for SCOTUS as it represents America and J Michele Childs is from SC.

Yup, no proxy voting allowed in the Senate, unlike House members who can vote through a colleague.

The SCOTUS nomination hearings for Jackson simply add to the evidence that the U.S. Senate needs a rules overhaul and a "house cleaning".  In the hands of the GOP, it has become an instrumental of obstruction bent on disruption, the breakdown of the legislative branch and the maintenance of minority rule.

The GOP continues its drive to cement minority rule.  We have basically become the antithesis of what the founders wanted...a government of the few, by the few and for the few.  The wishes of the majority of Americans are basically ignored.  The fate of Roe v. Wade is hanging in the balance and it looks this nation could see the restoration of power to a party that has been actively trying to suppress the vote, deny basic human rights, invalidate election results and overthrow the government.  The monied and the large corporations hold sway and keep those who look out for their interests in power.

Today's GOP...Ruling with God, Guns, Gelt and the Filibuster

Can't understand why Joe Biden's approval numbers are so low.  After all, he has satisfied the Muddled Middle's sole criteria for his presidency...restoring sanity to the White House.  The inflation we are experiencing was inevitable, and nobody should be surprised it has landed on our faces given the criminally incompetent response of the Trump administration to the pandemic.  Are people blaming Dems in general for bad economic policies implemented since Biden took office?  The truth is that this country is not operating under Democratic Party policies, and our party will never be able to put our policies into effect until the filibuster rule is either tossed or modified.  The symbiotic partners of the GOP, the large corporations, have been granted almost unfettered power since the 1980's to the point that we might as well admit we are caught in the throes of fascism.

So, members of the electorate, do not waste another decade by looking for Republicans to vote for.  Turning over control of Congress and the White House to the party that nearly ended our democracy and continues to place roadblocks to positive legislative action would be disastrous for us all.
