Voit is now apparently hanging out on a very shaky limb.

According to Marly Rivera, "Yanks are not done". Meaning trades.

I assume Voit is going either to save luxury tax payroll cap space for or directly for a pitcher of some type/quality.

to me, gallo makes voit expendable if only because it overloads us with HR, swing & miss guys - as if we didn't have enough already. would trade voit for either a contact hitting CF'er or some pitching. maybe even a SS and let the IF game of musical chairs begin. see no reason to have 5 HR or nothing guys in the lineup. gallo's advantage over voit is that he's LH.

Gallo replaces Frazier and to a lesser extent, Gardner

Odor is replacing Voit, in effect, and he's also a HR/K hitter, although at a lower BAVG and BB rate, and his doesn't K or HR quite as often.

Odor looks like he's a little clutch.

Another plus for Odor is he isn't afraid to bunt. He actually looks like he can bunt and has tried to bunt to get on base when we needed base runners. Very unselfish player.  I Definately did a turn around on him from when he first got here.

you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

Same here, wasn't a fan at first, but he brought me around.  He also brings some energy to the dugout.

I wasn't his biggest fan at first but he's won me over as well... I like what he brings to the game, he hit's for power, he plays pretty good defense and he's not afraid to lay down a bunt... He's kind of a sparkplug in the dugout as well....

problem with Voit is that he refuses to stop working out like a football player. As a result, he gets all these soft tissue injuries that are preventable.

Voits a much better hitter than Gallo ... why would you trade 4 prospects and get rid of Voit for a lesser hitter????

Gallo can hit the same homeruns, and Voit could be traded for pitching.

Or we could have used the Prospects that we traded for Gallo to get Pitching?

Gallo is an OFer and Voit plays 1st and is a better hitter than Gallo ... This trade wasnt made to get rid of Voit it was to fill the LF Void

Now the Rizzo trade is a different story ... He's a LH GG 1st baseman but He is also a Free Agent ... So I still dont think Voit is going anywhere.

He will be the LH DH ... and BU 1st Base unless Rizzo is extended

Ideally Stanton will do his annual stint on the DL when Voit is back

Gallo hit 40 homeruns two years in a row, get back to me when Voit does that. Also he's a better defender than Voit at his position and can play all outfield positions along with first base and third base. The prospects they gave up were lower level and probably be lost in the rule 5 draft. Any other questions?

Voit has a much higher OPS than Gallo which is much more important than hitting 40 HRs. 40 Hrs with an .815 OPS is pathetic it basically means HR or nothing ... Voit is not going because of Gallo ... If he goes it is because of Rizzo

Gallo is a very low BAVG hitter with a ton of K's, but he's always drawn a lot of walks, too. This year he actually has the lowest K% of his career (still a sky-high 32%) and the highest BB rate of his career (19.1%, probably because he was the only real threat on the Rangers and got pitched around a lot). With the Yankees, he'll be in the middle of other threats, and might walk less, but get more pitches to hit and hit home runs at a higher rater per at bat. Having the Porch in right won't hurt that either, might get him a handful of additional HR on what would otherwise be long flies to right in Arlington. With his power, he can hit it out anywhere, but the Porch might help him marginally.
