This is huge. Voit is basically a goner. We get Rizzo then he takes over 1B, DJ back to second with Torres and Urshela rounding out infield. Odor becomes the extra infielder which means bye bye to Wade as well as Dj can play 3rd and Gio can play SS.

Alacantra and Vizcaino are the two, also Cubs to pay Rizzo's salary.

Rizzo, 31, is hitting .249 with 14 home runs and 40 RBIs this season and if the deal goes through adds another power lefty bat to the Yankees’ righty-dominated lineup.

The Yankees are sending two prospects to the Cubs for Rizzo — outfielder Kevin Alcantara and pitcher Alexander Vizcaino. Both are in Low-A ball. The Cubs are picking up the remainder of Rizzo’s contract, which gives the Yankees a few million dollars to play with ahead of Friday’s MLB trade deadline.

Alexander Vizcaino (#9 on MLB's Top Yankee prospects list) and Kevin Alcantara (#12). Plus, CHC paying Rizzo to play in New York.

The rankings make it look like a steep price, but both of those guys are a long way away from MLB ready.

Well, now we have 2 left handed hitters. No more excuses.

Looks like Mr. Voit is going away now almost 100%. I thought for sure that guy would make a good solid Yankee for at least a few more seasons and his energy and presence in the dugout I will certainly miss. He was one of my favorite players and I did enjoy watching him when he was "on". All that said, if he does get his walking papers he has no one to blame but himself for suddenly always swinging from his heels and he was not willing to shorten his stroke with two strikes or with men on base and us needing a run. He did do that when he first got here and when he was "on" but then just seemed to turn into another all or nothing hitter. I am disappointed. As it looks for him, there is no more room at the Inn.

you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

Wish him the best wherever he goes, hard guy not to cheer for. That being said, I think his chronic injuries will be a factor where he may never be the player he was, again.

I like Rizzo, but I won't like the trade if he's just a rental and if the Yankees don't have a quality 1Bman next season. Maybe the Yankees thinking is let Rizzo become a free agent, sign Seager to play shortstop, Torres back to 2B and have DJ as their 1Bman? Cubs are paying Rizzo's salary so in my opinion the Yankees are going to make another trade. I'd like to see them trade for another starting pitcher and Berrios is still available.

If I had a choice Stanton and his big contract would be traded instead of Voit.

I agree.
