Hampfan has been about nothing other then Gardner hate for 10 years. Same crap, different year. I didn't want Gardner back for the last 2 years but guys that are one trick ponies are boring as hell. Yes they have a right to post what they want but geeez.

New the reason that I myself talked about Gardner was that Hampfan and Bumper spoke about him and Allen and I just wanted to answer Bumper when he said Gardner had a good game as it turned out as if Boone had some special idea that was going to happen so he played him. That seemed odd to me to start him when there was no logical or valid reason to do so with the chance to sweep to play him over a switch hitting young kid with blazing speed and baserunning abilities.

Had nothing to do with hating  on Gardner it was strictly about two players skills sets and who was better suited to start that game a game we needed for the sweep and to stay with Oakland. The fact Gardner cause and error by the other team as if it was planned is ridiculous it doesn't change the fact of what the odds were as to who was the better choice to start. I commended Gardner on his decent game. Saying he caused the win or had the big hit to cause the error is sort of a foolish excuse as to why he should have started because Boone has ESP. BTW where you been??

thought you were done talking about gardy. guess not ...

and btw, we did win and sweep. i mentioned gardy because he was in the middle of both rallys. whether the 2nd AB was an error or not is immaterial. i believe his speed made the 2ndbaseman rush causing the error. never said it was planned or that boone had esp or a special idea that it was gonna happen but he trusts, because of gardy's 14 yr body of work that he "can" make something happen even if he's running on fumes like he now is. while i've said a half dozen times that i'd prefer to see allen playing over gardy, nonetheless they're apparently not turning the keys to CF over to a guy who had a career OPS+ of 70, based on 40 ABs this season. fwiw, i'm guessing that boone is platooning gardy and allen.

Something that interests me the most about Gardner is the fact, even approaching age 38, he stays healthy, year after year. From 2010-2019, except for one year, he played in 140 or more games.

With all the injuries this team has gotten in recent years, that is amazing. How is it he can keep himself in good health to play every day, but so many other Yankees cannot? Maybe the Yankees should adopt his training regime, instead of theirs, since his works.

That has amazed me as well. He is like the Iron man and he just looks like a tough guy, naturally farm feed strong. I am sure he has a great work out and nutrition program and add that to him being a naturally athletic and strong guy with a tough guy attitude and you have Gardner. His weight lifting program is not overpowering his work outs I would think.

Also Bumper I did not understand any of your original statement about Gardner. My opinion stays the same however. NO REASON he started over Allen and I know you would have preferred Allen also, and yes they most likely are platooning, but Gardner should not have started the game was my ONLY original point. As I said before it was not about Gardner it was about two players and their skill sets and opportunity's with the team. Now due to the platoon idea even if it was his turn I would have started Allen because IMO he makes the infielders and pitcher's a lot more nervous than Gardner does at this point in his career I would think. After the game you are right it doesn't matter and we won! Forward March!

at this stage of his career, I'm not killing any fan that has a problem with Gardner. I get crazy over posters that post nothing else but ragging on any Yankee not only game after game but year after year. Whether it's Stanton, Gardner or whomever when that makes up 90% of a posters posts and they are frequent posters, it drives me nuts and regardless of what they think of me, I will defend their right to post what they want but I'll continue to call out the absurdity whether they or anyone else likes it or not   I wasn't  putting you in that catagorie.

I hear you, and I didn't take it that way either. I want to let you hear this line I just heard on MLB Network. They were talking about Rizzo and how he made an immediate impact for the Yankees in Miami. It was three people Mark DeRosa, Lauren Shehadi and Robert Flores. Flores thinks he is a hot shot and always cracks wise about the Yankees and a few other teams. Lauren I believe is a Giants fan but likes the Yankees also and DeRosa is a rabid Yankee fan. Yankees tried to trade for DeRosa when he played,  several times and it never worked out.

Anyway DeRosa, a Piason, was always high on Anthony Rizzo and was talking about his contribution over the week end and big mouth Flores, that black hair dyed, make up wearin, Yankee hater said Rizzo went to the Yankees to be a star, and then Lauren shot back and said, " No..I heard he went to the Yankees and brought his star with him.!." Man I loved that she shut that Flores punk up. He smiled his fake smile and changed the subject. Lol...Good Stuff! Rizzo has been something else so far.
