we all get frustrated, we all get angry and we all lose sight of the season at times. That's what cracks me up when many of us are called nothing but cheerleaders, pom pom wavers or rose colored pinstripe glasses wearers. They think we don't feel those emotions. Hell we just don't quit on the team or think everyone needs to be fired, DFA'd benched or traded  everytime they lose 3 in a row.

162 games make up a season. It's never been 162 individual seasons.

"Bumper" put it best...some see snapshots, others see the entire movie to the end.

that this had the potential to be  the storybook season I as a sports fan live for. We haven't won anything yet but with all the adversity this team has fought like hell. Been saying it here for 15 years every May, baseball is a long, long season and that's so much a part of it's beauty. No quit by the team and there should be no quit by it's fans

This season, like 2020, is again not your "average" regular season due to the (Covid and Injury) IL issues.

I'll be honest.....I am proud of myself (LOL). I truly believed that the Yankees were going to be fine, as in make the playoffs. Did I not make a post about this a couple of months ago? LOL...while I am reading discouraging article on the Yankees, such as: Boone should be fired and replaced with Showalter; the Yankees should trade for Story; Mets fans revelling in the demise of the Yankees; and other things.....I am loving the fact that there was a perception that the Yankees were digging themselves a large hole,.....

in the month of MAY !!!

My Gosh.....I have been a Yankee fan for 40 years! I have been through it all, as a Yankee fan, and learned a lot along the way.

It's more exciting for me to watch the Yankees (my beloved favorite team of all-time) FIGHT there way to the top, as opposed to defending 1st place status. IMO,....this builds team character and puts hair on the players chest and b**s.

bravo new. as amazing as this run has been, we have won nothing yet. and it's not gonna be a straight line to wherever we're going. there will ups & downs. elation & disppointment. and hopefully in the end - elation. and if not, while there'll be disappointment, i will have certainly enjoyed the ride.

It just goes to prove that Boone, Cashman and Steinbrenner know MORE than any of us... they know the players, the prospects and the ability to pick up the right pieces at the right time.

I wonder where all the "fire Cashman", "fire Boone" advocates are now...

It's a LONG season...and despite ALL the injuries, illnesses and missteps, the Yankees continue to keep their eyes on the prize...

Time for the fans to believe again !

I still think Boone should be fired, he's made many questionable moves this season that doesn't get erased just because they added reinforcements.

Great post Cookie...

I never stopped believing this team had the talent... it's been painful at times and frustrating but I never stopped believing in this team... it's manger or GM. I don't believe in the blame game. I actually think Boone has shown to have the perfect temperament to ride out the storm! He never stopped believing in his guys either... and he took a beating here on the messageboard, and I'm sure in other media.

Amazing how some of the so called experts can't seem to grasp it's a long season, with a lot of ups and downs.

Some of the things they've said about this team and it's manager, gm and owners is shameful.. And now they want to jump back on!

Marathon, sprint.  Marathon, sprint. Hello people. We've all been frustrated early on with their play, myself included, but I find it hard to believe how many "fans" jumped ship, wanted  players DFA, Boone and Cashman fired, Hal to sell the team and basically gave up on the team. We all felt it was near impossible to make the playoffs just 4 or 5 weeks ago but some of the posts by certain people were outrageous. Being frustrated and irate are one thing, giving up with outlandish statements is another. Marathon, sprint. Take your pick.

I still believe they could win the division... just need Tampa to lose a few games. September could be very exciting... we'll see what happens.
