assuming monty was gonna pitch yesterday so he probably starts tonite in atlanta. with the rainout, gil & heaney are also rested. plus we have another off day wednesday. we now have 6 starters - cole, taillon, monty, cortes, gil and heaney. does boone go 6-man to keep guys rested down the stretch or does he bump someone.

you certainly can't bump cortes, whether he can do the swing thing or not and how can you bump a kid who hasn't allowed a run in his 3 starts. despite his last start, the obvious choice is heaney but don't necessarily see them doing that. maybe boone reveals all tonite ...

Knowing Boone he'll probably goe with 6 man, to keep them rested. Everyone of those pitchers has earned a spot.

As I listened to wfan last night,  Met fans are going ballistic. Yankees are playing against Braves. They hate both teams yet they need Braves to lose.

They believe Yankees hot streak will end as Mets will soar to retake division...yeah right.

Every team's hot streak eventually will end, that is not great stretch for them to say that. They better hope the Yanks win at least one gamne vs Atlanta, since the NYM are playing the Giants the next three games.

As for them "soaring" to take the division, that will only happen if the Braves collapse, and the Mets play great the rest of the way, neither of which is likely. Listening to baseball analysts and Met announcers talk about them, it is amazing how much they make excuses and complain about how "tough" the Mets have had it with injuries.

Yankees/Braves both teams enter this series with a 9-game win streaks. Lets hope Yankees streak doesn't end just yet.

It's hard to soar when the Mets play like turkeys.

The rotation moving forward is Cole, Taillon, Montgomery, Cortes and Heaney.

At least until Kluber is ready, if he ever is ready again this season. At that point, you might get Kluber in the rotation and Cortes to the pen as a long reliever/6th starter. Is that fair? Maybe not, but that's what's likely to happen.

Gil starts on Tuesday at AAA, despite the day off on the same night. Then Taillon, Cortes, Cole and Montgomery pitch against the A's, after the off day.

so we know ...

thought they were gonna keep heaney in the rotation over gil. a number's game but the yankees might have picked the wrong number. pretty sure gil would be the unanimous pick on this forum to stay in the rotation. heaney did pitch a great game against the red sox and his keeping us in the game against seattle was huge. hopefully he can continue.

As Imus once said about the Mets. The magic is back. The team has disappeared once again.

Funny how the team has fallen apart once DeGrom went down but the Braves took off after losing Acuna. Fact is Mets were not that good. It was a bit of a mirage as the teams in the division were all under .500 except the Mets. Missing DeGrom hurts but team has not hit all year and that isn't going to change last 6 weeks.
