Talking about left handed hitters, we've had several this season, but I was happy with the trade at the deadline, but right now neither hitter is hitting... Rizzo had four good games, and Gallo really hasn't done much but what he was known for, striking out... But something about getting those two has changed the chemistry of this team... I think Rizzo will hit, but what seems to have really helped our team is the defense both of these players have brought... A lineup of every other hitter being right and left has made us a lot harder to pitch to..

Rizzo is a good hitter and player but I understand he is still not 100% due to recovering from Covid still. So I guess they didn't know that when Boone played him in two games where he went 0 for 9 I think it was. Concerning that the Yankee doctors cleared him to play without saying he wasn't 100%. Surprising that Rizzo didn't say he was still not feeling 100%. Maybe that was just a rumor about him not 100%.Still what is more concerning is they sat Voit and his hot streak  for two games to play Rizzo and no one could tell he wasn't 100% and looked a little under the weather. Some here noticed it and remarked about it but the Yankees didn't. I thought he looked a little pale yet the last two days also.  Stranger now they sat Luke, even more than before I realized he may not have been all the way recovered or at least that is what has been said.

Even though there aren't any smart baseball people here (says one), I was wondering if anyone can tell me how many more of the last two games against Atlanta could the Yankees have won if Voit wS playing first?

in my opinion they should count those two wins as losses because Voit wasn't playing. I wonder what the rest of the mob thinks.

yankees are now 13-1 when rizzo plays LaughingLaughing.

fwiw pretty sure there were discussions on whether rizzo should play between medical, the manager and the player. the manager just didn't wily nily write his name in the lineup. the player probably said, "coach put me in".

the two big factors were defense and left handedness. the yankees have always valued defense (when they had it) and stanton getting hot coincides with the lineup becoming more left handed (also playing the field). the other righties benefit as well. no conspiracy theories ...

Rizzo is, of course, going to say he wants to play ... but I don't like the way his eyes look ... I truly think he is still suffering some effects from the covid.

Boone went defense first in Altanta. Especially with Stanton and Judge both swinging well, Boone clearly wanted his best fielding team on the field. This could make for some intersting conversations ldown the wire in September.

New, I think the answer is 1. If Voit would have played, I think we would have had 3 wins in the 2 game series. Clear mistake by Boone.

Next time you see him at the plate try to look at his eyes, they are sunken in ... that happens when someone is ill.
