Probably more fans tonight, but this is pathetic. I could swear that the ump heard me yelling at him from the 2nd deck LOL.
Born and raised in Queens (now in California). Yankee fan since '74

It was clear that was the case from the YES telecast. Kay suggested several possible reasons for that...a Thursday night game & fans probably spending their money on the previous series with the cross-bay rival Giants. But I've attended Yankees-A's games at that ballpark and there had always been a large contingent of Yankees fans.

8000+ fans for a team that is still in the hunt in the AL West.  If they're looking to contract teams, this might be a good place to start after Florida.

A's have been making noises re a move to Las Vegas. There are also plans to build a new pallpark in Oakland, but the city & team haven't been able to reach agreement re terms/length of lease.

A new park in Oakland may help a lot.  I'm just not sure that the market is able to handle two teams.  If they had a decent park, they might be able to draw some more big name hitting talent and maybe some more fans.

I think a new ballpark would help for several reasons. The Coliseum, or whatever it's called this week, was built for football which is the reason for the large seating capacity and spacious foul territory, and it is not "fan friendly". The cavernous concourse where the concession stands are is reminiscent of YS1.

The A's have, of course, called several different cities home...from Philadelphia to Kansas City to Oakland. Before Colorado was awarded the Rockies there was a deal in place to sell the A's to Marvin Davis and move the team to Denver. That obviously fell thru for several reasons. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see them follow the Raiders and relocate to Las Vegas.

I'm told there are also many Yankee fans attending games at Anaheim. Yankees travel well.

There is usually a good contingent of Yankee fans at most ballparks...always at Anaheim...either New York transplants or vacationers who build their trips around when the Yanks are in town. I usually go out there every year and would've gone to the upcoming series, but other plans had already been made.

Absolutely! They should be able to move if only 8,000 fans support a good team like Oakland. That is pathetic! They should run a $10 night to get butts in seats!
