My basement is flooded. My pantry is flooded. A piece of ceiling fell in my living room as i have a bucket under it.. It was the bucket brigade till the 3am to remove water pouring in my pantry. My basement is ankle deep with water . Soon I have to work to remove water there. Got my boots ready for the task. Just thinking what is ahead is exhausting. At least temperature is not overbearingly hot.

My friend have over 6 feet of water in his basement and the 1st floor of his house is flooded.  My area is a mess....

I went through something very similar with Irene and still recall the sick feeling when I looked at my basement and saw nothing but a pool of water. Be patient and try to keep positive. It is going to take a while. Some things will dry out, others will get tossed out. Just take care of yourself in the process.

Best wishes lauren. Keep an eye out for mold, and protect your lungs.

We don't have many basements down this way, but I'd think a major investment would be some super sump pump action.
