If the Yankees don't make the playoffs should Boone be fired,? or should he be fired regardless?

and who are some credible replacements for the job?

I'm not really sure about Boone, but the Yankees don't seem to add up to the sum of their parts. Is it lack of leadership? A soft mentality? I'm not really sure, but all season has been questions for me. Things just don't seem quite right with this team, but I can't quite figure out what.  If he goes, give Buck a shot to see what he can do with this bunch.

Agree with your comment.  This really seems to be a team that is significantly less than the sum of its parts.

Agree with everything but giving Buck a shot. I don't know why a lot of people are enamored with him and think he's managing savior. He's never won anything significant in 20 years of managing, has only won a handful of playoff games and his career managing record is .507. He Would fit better in a FO position or player development.

buck's time has past. think even he knows it. also think buck is better starting w a young team rather than taking over a veteran team.

Boone IMO makes too many mistakes managing that seem obvious from a fans perspective.  I would replace hid regardless of what they do because even if they win the world series it would be because of in spite of him and not because of him.

He does make too many mistakes, but today's game he was pretty much right on the money.

The only questionable move was Green, but he got away with that one when Wendle centerd a hanging 0-2 curve down the middle with Choi on 2nd and 1 out in the 7th.

Centered it too precisely, because if Wendle had lifted it a little, he'd have had an easy HR to right. Instead it was a smoked line drive with enough topsin to bring it down right near where judge was standing.

105.2 mph off the bat, launch angle 16°, XBA 0.590.

A little under it and it's 2 run HR, a little further left or right and it's a RBI double. Hit where it was hit it was a very very very lucky out.

Is "making the playoffs" the standard for continuing as manager ?   I think Joe Girardi did better than that got fired. (Not offered a new contract)  This team was built to win in 2020, 21 or 22.

He has a man crush on Green.  I get that he's a solid relief pitcher who challenges hitters but he gives up wayyyy too many home runs.  I hope they avoid using him if the game is close against Boston but I have a feeling we'll knock the sox off Eovaldi.

I threw a name out there because the OP asked for a name. But who else could they hire?
