If the Yanks don't change their organizational philosophy, it would seem that they will only hire another hitting coach that emphasises power, launch angle etc. just like they will only hire another manager subserviant to the analytics crew. All they will be doing is changing the faces. At least that's how I see it.

Jonah and Raymon already want the next manager fired and they don't even know who it isLaughing

They have to make adjustments to the approach, don't they? Even to the most stubborn proponent in the organization, it has to be clear the current approach isn't working.

Until the front office changes the philosophy and make up of this team its going to be wash, rinse, repeat no matter who the manager or coaches are.

Yanks will be looking for a new HC as Thames will not be brought back.

Just my 2 cents...The Yankees should hire Tino. He hit for power which the Yankees like, but he had a low strikeout rate and a high OBP which is something that can be taught to other players if the Yankees do decide to change their hitting philosophy.

There are a lot of suggestions to hire ex-players. O'Neill's name comes up a lot.

Need to keep in mind these guys spent many years on the road, away from their families and retired in their 30's as mulit-millionaires. Very few are interested in a full-time job...they don't need one.

When O'Neill was broadcasting from the booth he had one foot out the door by the end of the 7th. Anyone who watched the Brewers-Braves series heard Adam Wainwright in the booth. He was great. When asked if he wanted to go into broadcasting when he retired from the Cards, probably after next year, his answer...no way...for the very reasons I mentioned.

I posted ti Jon's redundant thread that Nevin's blunders were right there during games for eveyrone to see, but that we never see Thames' work.   For the past 3 years they were one of the top offensive teams in the AL.

Did Thames suddenly change everyone's apporachto to turn them into a less than mediocre ofensive team?  Who knows.  We fans never get to see what Thames and the other hitting coach are doing.

Not saying Thames shouldn't have been fired.  Maybe it simply is time for a new voice because the players aren't listening to what he is trying to teach.  But if he is to blame for 2021's offfensive malaise, he ought to get a lot of credit for how well they hit in previous years.
